This is pretty easy. Just get a large group of weaker enemies like skeletons or spiders and mash y with the shotgun. If you get a kill it resets y cooldown.

. If you get a kill the meter will refill. Find a group of weak enemies (spiders or skeletons) and just spam . I did it on the "Den of The Broodmother" map quite easily.
