It’s not that I don’t find the thrilling process of solving a Rubik cube extremely exciting but I used this page to solve it in a faster way https://rubiks-cube-solver.com/
Just shuffle the cube and copy the pattern to the page. Then select the solve button and follow the instructions (I found the 2D version easier to follow)
* User killswitchmad used this page which uses a 3D model of a cube https://www.grubiks.com/solvers/rubiks-cube-3x3x3/ (looks good too)

- Now since the game it’s still on preview you might find glitches like I did and some of the colors of the rubik cube will turn black but that shouldn’t be a problem if you remember the patterns.
- Also you don’t need to do it on one sitting, I did it between matches.
- The cube is on the 1st floor of your shelter to the right of the stairs that lead to the basement (after you enter your shelter through the main entrance go to your left or to the right of the 1st floor workbench).

Anybody else struggling with the controls? They just don't make sense to my brain. I can solve a rubiks cube fine in reality, but the way the game makes you manipulate the cube gives me a headache....

it's bugged out real bad for me for some reason a few of them have disappeared and others have turned black

When some of the squares turned black what I did was quit the game and then reshuffle the cube and that fixed it. You’ll lose your progress, do it if you can’t remember the patterns to solve it.

toggle auto focus and you wont have to rotate the cube as a whole... made it manageable for me.

Updated the guide with the location of the rubik cube as some people couldn’t find it. Hope that helps.
Fun fact: the achievement art show the cube on a table on the 2nd floor instead of the 1st floor

I stuggled with this even with the Rubik's Cube solver website. Especially when I was actually trying to rotate the cube in the game to get the highlighted (focused) row that I wanted. Then, I saw that you can use the D-Pad to focus on any row I needed without rotating the cube with the thumbsticks! Use that and my advice is to never go through with rotating the middle row as it always tripped me up.

Also, whenever you get any black cubes, keep re-shuffling until you get all the colors. Then use the website to enter your colors on each side given in the game, and take it one step at a time.

They patched it so I was finally able to pick it up. Used killswitchmad’s website. Worked perfectly

As of the time of writing this, there is a glitch to do this very easy and only takes 2 moves.

Reset your cube or start with a complete one, when holding (Y) to shufle, hit (B) as the circle fills up completely, which will cause you to back out. If done at the right time the timer will start when you open it back up, then just move one and then move it right back. Done.

Hard to say I'm not sure and unaware if it was patched. If those triggers didnt work, continue to move the tiles until they are correctly aligned. Perhaps your controlller scheme is different. Idk.

Or maybe the cube isnt solved when you try this, maybe even shuffle it and then back out and then solve it and back out then try the glitch.

Ok, so I should solve the puzzle first with A? And then when it's solved, I should shuffle it again with Y, and press B when it's filled to exit, and then press X again to go into the cube, and then press RB and RT to move one and move it back again. Is this correctly?

@SilentDK73 yes, correct. The timer should start counting but the cube will be solved so you just make a move then move it back and it counts.

lol, it looks like theres another glith: if you press suffle if will give you 1x1x1 rubics cube. you need just to press right trigger to slove it lol. (i got there after i skipped the tutorial on first generation xbox one)

For my glitch, it just... happened. My console was very laggy when I did it, and it just gave me the achievement lol

Have tried this 100 times, and it wont work for me. I start a new game, run into the shelter and go to the cube and press X.

Then I hold do Y to shuffle and when it’s filled up I press B, which makes it go out and I push X again. When I come in I can see the counter for moves is 0 and the counter is starting. I then push RB and then RT, but no achievement.

So what do i do wrong?

Inside your Shelter, you can find a Rubik’s Cube. It is located on a dresser next to the stairs to the basement. The attached video shows the location of the Rubik’s Cube. Interact with it by holding and then shuffle the Rubik’s Cube by pressing . You must solve the Rubik’s Cube on your own and cannot press to have the game solve it for you.
