How to unlock the 1000 Plays achievement in Virtua Tennis 3 - Definitive Guide
dannyboy276 and tato br's solutions are both good, but if you want to be really lazy like me, set up a 1 game 1 set match in exhibition YOU VS CPU. Choose who ever for your player and choose Roddick for the CPU, set the difficulty on Very Hard and select Roddick to serve.
Now watch him smash the game in 12 SECONDS!! Press to retry and let him roll again. I'd recommend this method only if this is the last achieve' you need or you have finished working on your different shot types, or if you only have 1 control pad.
drabik has a way of beating 12 seconds each time if you're willing to contribute more to each match rather than just pressing to retry:

Great solution, but I can beat 12 seconds.
Use the same configuration as above, but rush the net before Roddick serves, and hit the ball before it bounces (foul). This shaves off two seconds per play.

How I not thought about it before?? Excellent tip, Dat Boi. Missing a few matches for my achievement unlock. Your solution came at a good time.

My solution is based on MarvericRenegade's :
- 2 controllers
- exhibition set (1game / 1 set)
- main profil to serve
I'll just add that if you have a turbo controller you can idle boost this achievement : just plug the turbo controller (main profil) and set the 'A' button to turbo and rubberband it. Your player will serve 4 times never returned by the second controller (not used). You will end a game every 15 seconds. Go to sleep... and this achievement is yours :)

The best way to do this achievement quickly is plug in 2 controllers, go on exhibition and set it to 1 game 1 set with your main profile serving!
This way when you serve you instantly win the point, you have to do this 4 times to complete a game ending the match with a total time taken of around 20 seconds.
I'd recommend going for the different types of shot achievements at the same time.

Very long and boring achievement, you can go into the mini games and choose the game alien attack and then set yourself up and let it play itself if you want to.
Although there are 3 other good solutions posted already, I want to post the method I am currently using;
For this method you'll need two controllers. On the main menu, click "Exhibition" mode. Do "singles", and then pick a player per controller... Then make sure there is only "1 Game" per match. I guess in theory is doesn't matter which player is serving, but I would just make your main account serve.
Now, once you pick a course, and I would suggest you pay attention to the three achievements for playing 100 matches on clay, grass and artificial courts... Just keep tapping "A" with the controller which is serving. You will get service aces, skip cut scenes, and click "replay" after the game ends.
Including down time (replay menu, skipping the little cut-scene things), a match will take 25 seconds, not 12-15 like it'll say after you've won it. So with that being said, you can finish about 72 matches per 30 minutes... What I am doing is watching TV on another input while just tapping "A". While watching a two and a half hour NBA game, I will play 360 games... So if you're watching TV, you may as well do this.
If a controller turns off, you must unpause with that controller by clicking "A"... So if you see the idle controller off, turn it on, and tap "A" a few times with it.
