How to unlock the 250 Running Shot Points achievement in Virtua Tennis 3 - Definitive Guide
First off grind this while going for this achievement:
You will need 2 pads and possibly a friend with spare time but this can be done alone (still with 2 pads). Apologies if you don't have 2 pads because trying to get this achieve against actual opponents is hard work!
Set up an Exhibition Match, I used Blake for my 1st Pad and Mauresmo for the 2nd.
Use any court you want and set the games to 1 set, choose your 1st pad to serve and set up the starting positions with 1st pad at the lower side of the screen like normal.
Now the running shot is easy to hit but extremely difficult to actually score with, even against easy A.I. they still have plenty of time most of the time to save the ball.
Before using this method i only had 7 points off of 887 hits! NOTE that academy running shot points do not count in the statistics therefore I'm guessing they wont count towards the achievement. They only count from Exhibition, World Tour, and Tournament mode too.
Have both your pads in your lap!
So to start you need to press ONCE on your 1st Pad so that the serve begins but will be hit at slow speed, the moment the ball hits the racket press on the 2nd pad so that the 2nd player is ready to hit the ball back straight on (Don't worry about moving the player or aiming the shot). This gives you time to get your 1st player into position for a running shot, as the ball is coming back you need to quickly run to the left a bit then back right into the ball but just as you go to hit the ball pull left on the analogue.
Then do this the other way round on the next serve but in vice-versa. Personally I came running from the left side of the ball each time regardless of which direction it came from because I kept messing up the right to left shot. But even if you do mess up if you are quick with your hands you can still hit the ball back from the 2nd pad and try again instantly, pause the game if you want/have to! You can also try using on the 2nd pad which delivers a slower shot giving you more time to get into position.
You know you are doing it right when the crowd makes a "Oooohh!" sound after you hit a running shot. Try to stick the grinding out, as tempting as it is to keep quitting and looking at the stats this will just slow you down way more. I've just unlocked my achieve now and it took around about 2 hours maybe less to go from 10points to 250 so its not actually that bad of a grind.
This method is not exactly that fast and it can take a bit to get used to, but trust me this is a lot faster then trying to score running points legit. Hope this helps.

If you have a turbo controller, this achievement can be won while you are sleeping. Simply setup a singles exhibition match with the following settings:
1P: Duke (or Nadal if you haven't unlocked him)
CPU: Davenport
Games: 1
Sets: 1
Server: Back (Have the CPU Serve)
Court: LA Indoor
Difficulty: Easy
Start up the match and rubber band your A button on turbo. You should get around 2 running shots per game. This may take a few hours, but will also go towards your 1000 games played.

Basically play someone who is good and they make you run your character around a lot. When on the run try to hit hard angles and drop shots and keep the opponent off balance. Use down-the-line shots as they are the easiest to make while on the run. You can check out how many you have by going into statistics.
