Depending how you level your character's traits and how you play, this may come faster than stroke points. Chances are though, you'll hit over 500 volley points on your way to number 1 in tour mode.
You can boost this in versus if you're afraid to go to the net against an AI, but you shouldn't have to.

For this achievement go to the net on every point that you can. If you’re not playing with your custom character then try playing with Tim Henman or Taylor Dent because their style is serving and Volley which means that they have a good serve and they are also very good at Volleying.
