From the main options menu, change tournament settings to very easy, one game per match. Defeat all opponents without losing a point through the entire tournament (5 rounds). After the finals, you will get to play an exhibition match against Duke. Defeat him to unlock the achievement and Duke as a playable character.
I unlocked King first and used King to defeat Duke, won on my first try. Be careful using anyone else, Duke (like King) is a very fast,skilled player. He is listed as a serve/volley specialist, but if you're only playing 1 game/match he won't get to serve. If you're having trouble, just pause the game and select 'Try Again' before the match is over.

I also beat Duke using King.
I used Nadal to beat King in a few tries, Then King to beat Duke on the 1st try

I also used King to beat him. I used the "no aiming" technique mentioned in the other guide when serving and always tried to charge my hits as much as possible. When you do that, Duke is usually sloppy when hitting the ball back

After using the above guides with youtube clips and everything for two hours straight I decided for a wild approach. Just make sure the first serve is as maxed out as possible, but DO NOT aim to the right or the left, just hit it hard to the center. After two hours of struggling I won at once using this method. Not sure it works for anybody, but it sure helped me from tons of frustration.

Same settings as King above, but you CANNOT lose any points throughout the tournament. Sounds tough, but on "very easy" and "one game" it's quite simple. Once you defeat the final player you'll get to match up with Duke.

what i learned is that a middle-serve is key to beat him easy and fast.
