Winning by time out is fairly simple in this game. Simply beat up the opponent and use the bumpers to continue to dash around the stage and dodge their attacks. It's also beneficial to create a gap between you and your opponent and simply hide behind cover. I'd suggest knocking out about half of the AI's health and then switching targets with B, only because you don't want your partner to finish them nor do you want your partner to receive enough damage to cost you the win. Look at the overall percentage at the top to have an idea of what kind of lead you have.
