How to unlock the Linked with the Spirits achievement in Visions of Mana - Definitive Guide

You will get your first tonic to expand an elemental plot after the Octopus boss battle on the ship in Chapter 1. Each tonic is specific to a character, and there is no downside to using one as soon as you obtain it, so do so with Val to unlock this achievement at that point.
