How to unlock the Longevity achievement in Viva Piñata - Definitive Guide

Start a new garden and don't add anything to it. During downtime (when you aren't playing), enter that garden and hit x to bring up the first menu. Leave your box on and all of the time will count towards the achievement.

Remember to pull up the first menu, otherwise the factory challenges will pop up, which stops the clock.

I would be surprised if a new player got all the other achievements before this one... it's much more likely that you'll get this achievement "naturally," on your way to other achievements.

Agreed that this one should come naturally while knocking out everything else. It comes in handy for Super Longevity though. If using a guide, most will be finished with everything else well before attaining that one.

I voted positive because I used this exact method to unlock it, because I was aware of the 50 hour achievement. So when I'm not playing I just leave the game on.

A tip though, is if you use wireless controllers, make sure to plug them in. Once the controller turns off, the Xbox tells you, and the clock stops.

I've been rocking this game to try and finish Rare Replay, so this is my experience on the Xbox One. But you will need a wired controller, or plug in your wireless to stop the controller from turning off

Normally, you will earn this achievement just by playing the game.µ
After 10 hours played, you will earn the achievement. You don't have to do anything at all.
