How to unlock the Coffin Dodger achievement in Void Bastards - Definitive Guide
Choosing Normal difficulty will obviously make your life a little bit easier. Heart Starter upgrade should not void the achievement, I died once during my run but got revived by the upgrade and the achievement still popped, so you might wanna upgrade that earlier just to have a few extra shots at this.
In the later part of the game, I wasn't feeling all that confident around Zecs (shield girls) so I tried avoiding ships with them completely. If you can't, equip either Bangers to bounce them behind their shields or if you have a Scrambler, you can shoot them once and they become your allies for the remainder of your stay on the ship.
Enemies like Janitors or Spooks are better stunned first with the Zapper and then annihilated with a few shots from either your pistol or the Stapler (the latter usually requiring only 1-2 shots after upgrading it). If you can't avoid them, use the Zapper on Screws as well, throw a few Bushwhackers to drop their health and finish them off with your gun. Upgrade your Rad Spiker as soon as you can since it's excellent for Patients - one shot inflicts radiation damage on all the heads and they're dead within two seconds.
Check for rifts often, if you find one, try to seal it in the room by locking all the doors, they're mostly in rooms you can just walk around so don't worry about locking out yourself of the route back to your ship. If you manage to seal off every rift on a ship, you can explore without worrying about the pesky enemies respawning and bothering you.
Security elements can be a bother as well, so listen to whirring of cameras (sometimes it shows the *whirring* text as well) so you can shoot them before they send a secbot at you, turrets are best stunned with the Zapper, then it's your choice to either destroy them completely or just run past if you know you won't travel through that particular hallway anymore.
Don't underestimate upgrades that make authorization of terminals cheaper in terms of Merits, the prices can drop 50% and later in the game I could open every single one without worrying about Merits at all, it can net you important parts, reveal enemy locations on the map and so on.
Try to save some materials to craft parts required for story-related items, I skipped a large portion of the last item needed because I simply crafted everything I needed right away without the need to travel around the ships to actually get to the parts.
