In order to reach level 30, you need to get 423700xp. This could take around 150-200 hrs of playtime (see comments for explanation).
You get xp from completing coop missions or verses matches.
Versus matches can reward up to 500xp in the Storm game mode. Other game types only give you 400xp max.
The problem is that only the top players get those maximum rewards and the others get substantially less. So this game is not boost friendly in this regard.
You do not get xp for each kill, but rather your xp reward is based on your point rank for that match.
This solution is a work in progress and I am checking various scenarios. If you want to experiment with boosting Versus, here a couple things I have noticed from my experience so far.
The number of people you have is one of the factors that dictates how much xp you get. (I think you can max out your reward with 8 people. I am still working on getting a full 16 player lobby together to test this out.)
The other thing I discovered is that if you tie for first place, it counts as first place (see my solution for Top Dog). This means that there is a possibility that everyone could get the same maximum xp reward.
Then there are coop missions. One great thing about this is that all 5 squad members get rewarded the same amount of xp. You can get up to 1800 xp from a single hardcore coop mission, but I would recommend this if you were a dev and had unlimited revive tokens. (Unless you can find a HC mission that you can work yourself up to do quickly, see comments) But if you are like me, just doing one speed run each day of Regular and Skilled is the way to go since it is the most xp/minute thanks to the one time per day daily bonus.
For this I recommend a squad made up of 4 medics and 1 engineer (all with speed boots on if available).
This of course depends on the mission (I will try to add mission specific recommendations later) but this is generally a good setup if you are just trying to quickly finish the mission and get your xp.
When it comes to time, one of the most time consuming things can be the heavy gunners. The quickest way I have found to do this is to have one medic act as bait for the HG while healing themselves. You should have another medic or an engineer help them out with this by standing behind "the bait". Then the other medics just keep using the defibrillators on the HG's backpack (aim right in the center of the light on it). You'll be finished in seconds since he doesn't move around.
For Skilled you'll want to have a medic AND an engineer healing/armoring "the bait".
One more thing on coop is that each mission gives you some "Commander's Orders" which you can see listed in your stats when you press the back button. They will be something like "Defibrillate 6 Enemies" or "Get 10 Kills in Slide". This allegedly can give you 10% more xp but I have only ever gotten a maximum of 9% more xp from doing this. It isn't too bad on the Normal missions, but I hardly ever bother on Skilled or Hardcore. But keep an eye out for this little bonus.
You also can purchase boosters to maximize your efforts.
Also this is so far just speculation, but do not rule out the possibility of future 2x xp events or discounts on boosters. These freemium games often do such things. It is just something to consider/look forward to/pray for. And note that boosters work on all xp earned in-game including coop first-time bonuses.
Action/XP:
Coop Path B - 120 (+0)
Coop Path A - 132 (+0)
Coop Regular - 264 (+216)
Coop Skilled - 448 (+280)
Coop Hardcore - 1260 (+540)
Note that the first time you complete a mission each day you get an xp bonus. I indicate that above in parentheses.

Updated. Thanks for the info! Unfortunately I am middle of the road skill wise and have not yet been the MVP (on the winning team anyway)...yet.

To reach rank 30 you need 423700xp this is going to take farever am at level 10 with 24000xp.

Manic Ado played in the closed Beta, so he/she is correct about it requiring 424k xp. Manic even has a video on it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9VjSc4JQ0wAlso it seems as if Regular Co-op missions gives about 240-260 xp if you play from the start to finish and Skilled gives about 448 xp. Based on my gameplay that is, so if anyone ells can confirm if they are getting the same xp would be nice. There's also a xp bonus for completing them the first time.
Strange how there is no actual info on this game, I mean the PC version has been out for a while and with 25 million registered players there should be a lot more info but no.
By Bellsten on 05 Apr 2014 09:59
Yes it is 448 for skilled. I will update the solution tonight after I fin out what the first time bonuses are. Thanks!
By Torchstone on 05 Apr 2014 17:34
Also like you said about the double xp events in these type of games, its basically also confirmed in the video I linked. There's actually double reward for everything weekend, hopefully these type of events will stack up with the Booster tokens as well.
By Bellsten on 06 Apr 2014 13:38
The max xp for versus is actually 400 xp.
By NameAlmond72398 on 06 Apr 2014 14:14
First off, UnawareBoss is correct according to Manic's own video.
It shows:
29) 378000
30) 423700
31) 473700
Second of all, I checked on the 1st time bonus of the first coop mission last night.
I got 216 additional. Repeating the mission netted me the base 264. Skilled was a B last night with that mech and so I was unable to check on the Skilled level.
Thirdly, what is going on with versus XP? I am getting conflicting reports. Ans if you look in Manic's video, he is on the losing team and ends up with over 1000xp (2x xp). So 500 xp?
I will continue to watch. I also have an idea for boosting that I will try to test tonight.
By Torchstone on 06 Apr 2014 21:09
Indeed it is 423700xp in the actual video, the description on the video says its 424k.
Yes same 216 xp bonus for me on regular, Skilled bonus for me is 280xp and Hardcore bonus is 540xp and no bonus Hardcore gives 1260xp upon completion.
One other thing I noticed is the amount of XP in Co-op seems to be based on how many players there is in the lobby. Example I played the Hardcore mission yesterday with 5 players we get in to the chopper for the other section of the mission, failed that section and got 540xp every time. Later on same section but this time with only 4 players and I got 450 xp. 3 players same section and all I got then was 360xp. However I don't know if the amount of players actually affects the XP upon completions, as whenever i did finish a Hardcore mission we were always 5 players and got the usual 1260xp.
By Bellsten on 07 Apr 2014 10:37
Thanks Bellsten. Yeah that is a good question. It seems stupid that with less people you get less points. I mean that would obviously make it more difficult. I'm guessing it had no correlation to how far you got in the mission.
I have not noticed this because we have a pretty solid crew and I don't normally pay attention to the xp gained when we lose since it is maddening/depressing/frustrating.
Next time we have a couple extra people I will try it out and see what happens.
By Torchstone on 07 Apr 2014 15:50
It says in game that they add new missions daily to Co-op, however they are only adding 1. Since they do it like this the regular mission gets the new mission first, while the old regular mission becomes a skilled mission and the old skilled mission becomes a hardcore mission.
Just thought this might be worth knowing for those who wants to set up a co-op session on here, since they can now plan a head a few days and see if its even worth putting up a session for say grinding a Hardcore mission for the xp etc.
And for those of you wondering yes Booster Tokens will also give double xp for the first time completion bonus.

According to this site:
http://warface.wikia.com/wiki/PvE_MissionsCompleting the Commander's Orders (side objectives at the bottom of the in-game scoreboard) will net you a bonus 10% XP at the end of a mission per objective you complete. That explains why your payout for Path A was off for me. I always speedrun it with minimal kills.
By koolkong94 on 13 Apr 2014 11:52
Hmm... I will check that out. I have been doing those while going for point runs on normal and hadn't noticed anything. I will re confirm and then edit. Thanks!
By Torchstone on 13 Apr 2014 16:15
Torchstone, that link with required xp for ranks is not right. Im at level 26 and have around 260.000 XP. I think the video showing rank 40 is 424K XP is more accurate.
By Mac Chickgun on 14 Apr 2014 07:01
Thanks Mac. BTW, it sound like you don't know the easy way to check on these things. In your after action report where it shows your xp being added to your total, it shows the xp needed for your previous rank on the left side I the line and the xp needed for your next rank on the right. Your current xp slides along somewhere in the middle. I hope I described that good enough. Thanks again and keep it up. You are really on your way.
By Torchstone on 14 Apr 2014 15:14
Yeah I know, that's why I was saying your numbers are correct. Rank 27 currently and 336500 is indeed needed for 28
By Mac Chickgun on 14 Apr 2014 21:37
These higher ranks were reported to me by Manic Ado. Homeboy knows what is up. Anyway just want to take this time to thank all who have helped us with this!!
By Torchstone on 15 Apr 2014 01:10
So currently, the coop mode is intirely unreliable. Chances are you complete a mission, but wont get any credit for it, making it a waste of time, and also a waste of ingame money (when you;ll have to repair your gear).
Versus works normally though, so I suggest all boosters should gather and make 1 big lobby to max out the xp boost. Storm takes about 7-8 minutes. PtB takes far less time, since the other team can just kill themselves, going through he 6 rounds within 2 minutes.
So if anyone is looking to boost XP, I think this is certainly the way ALTOUGH I DONT KNOW how much XP the winning team recieves. (assumingly 400xp). Coop can be either too hard or too glitchy.
By Basanakin on 19 Apr 2014 15:45
It might also be possible to create rubber-banding sessions, like with Rainbow Six Vegas. As long as the host has a turbo controller, and can lock the A button, i believe averybody will get xp/money/vp for doing nothing...
By Basanakin on 19 Apr 2014 17:16
From results screens of my characters on other realms:
4) 1200
5) 2350
6) 4000
By Ripley LV426 on 20 Apr 2014 00:19
i was rubberbanding the other night and got kicked b4 i made it back from the bathroom.
but i every1had a turbo their maybe something that can be done, maybe ... hopefully
By MG Dano296 on 20 Apr 2014 05:12
Basanakin, yes I think since storm is short and also rewards the most xp it is the way to go if boosting. However not everyone gets the same amount of XP. It is like a sliding scale and it doesn't seem to matter I you are on the winning team or not. In other words, if you get the best score in the match (even if on losing team) you can get up to 500 xp, but if you are in last place you end up with 150 or something.
Anyway I am working on getting some people together to test this. I need a party of eight. Please standby.

Am I right in thinking this is around 200hrs of hardcore co-op missions?
By Barad 007 on 26 Apr 2014 20:09
we need to figure out a boosting method asap.
By bean is not pro on 30 Apr 2014 04:16
Barad, it depends on your assumptions. Here are mine.
The most effective way to spend your time is to get the daily first time bonuses by playing each mission once per day. This will net you just over 3000xp.
[Regular - 264 (+216)=480
Skilled - 448 (+280)=782
Hardcore - 1260 (+540)=1800]
423700/3062=138 days
Time needed to complete each mission (approximate since they change and including load times based on my speed run history):
Regular: 15 min
Skilled: 15 min
Hardcore: 30 min
=138 hours total to rank 30.
Of course the big problem with this is that while the normal and skilled can easily be done within these parameters (for the most part) hardcore is a nightmare and I normally just assume I don't do it unless my entire team has all the best equipment and a good number of revive tokens. So for me personally, I am assuming just normal and skilled with some hardcore gravy here and there=1262/day...336 days...168 hrs.
Finally the number of hours is dependent on whether or not you buy xp boosts or play on xp bonus weekends or whatnot.
By Torchstone on 30 Apr 2014 15:35
Bean, yes I would like a method to boost. I am trying to get 8 people together to test it out. Look for my sessions at 8 PDT in the future. One if these days when 8 I my buddies are on I will try some thing with PTB since it is the fastest. Standby.
By Torchstone on 30 Apr 2014 15:39
Re: "commander's orders" I am still unsure how much you get. I did normal and got a 9% xp bonus. On the wiki it says 10% but that is currently PC centric. Anyway I will update on this point when I figure out the reward for each mission.
By Torchstone on 30 Apr 2014 15:51
more than happy to help out bro. i'm online every night around that time. i'll shoot ya a friend request.
By bean is not pro on 30 Apr 2014 22:40
Just a little heads up. So for those of you who had bought some boosters when the game had server issues, well Crytek is now (today) compensating those players by giving them a 12 day booster.
By Bellsten on 07 May 2014 16:30
if you want to rank up fast its very simple if you can get a good team. get 5cash and buy a booster and wait for a easy hardcore mission :)
like the arena (the one with the tank. 1st area 1 person stays PRONE on the right side of the high spot in case everyone dies so you can run check point smoke grenade for cover when door blows up. in 2nd area 3 go left and hide/hold out 2 go right 1 in door way and 1 behind green/grey boxes. in 3rd area 1 or 2 behind jeep as you jump off the wall and the rest behind the tank. and dont forget to use your SMOKE GRENADE for cover one at a time in all areas as needed but always try keep one for getting to the chopper when it lands
or safari sitting in the back of a truck healing and refilling amour with a assault man shooting but he is not needed its safer to have 3 medics and 2 engineers prone healing each other. using smoke grenades to cover the team and try keep a smoke for GETTING OFF the truck as its stopping their can me 1 or 2 or sometimes 15 enemies in that final courtyard
and do it for the 24h. just dont mind that sleeping, and about 8 coffees
if you know how to do mech bug thats the easiest hardcore mission. we got it in 5.39 best and we were getting 7-10 mins average per game. done a 24h stint went from level 30 - 34 near 35. and i think that was 70k+ xp maybe 80k+ per level
By MG Dano296 on 11 May 2014 06:35
I have been keeping track of the the missions and will add Hardcore guides for each one when I have the chance. Note that I have not been able to finish all of them yet, so any tips how you did it would be appreciated. Note that these are in order of the rotation. (Personally I have done Mech Brazil which is the fastest btw, all safaris and all apaches. I got close on Mech Afghanistan a couple times but have not perfected the method yet.)
----Mech Afghanistan----
Medic with speed boots and anti-explosive vest runs counterclockwise around the mech while others clean off the grunts and an engineer stand outside the circle and armors when possible. The rest of the team shoots rockets at it but mind the friendly fire.
----Mech Brazil----
One person gets in the glitch spot (I will have to better describe this lol but briefly put, it is the little "pit" to the mech's right as it exits the gate.) Others clean off the grunts and take it down with rockets and (due to a bad angle and the blast radius of a rocket) pump shotty rounds into its head (don't worry, they are very effective).
----Safari Afghanistan----
Long story short (for now) just have minimum 2 engineers and 2 medics partner up (1 each) and go prone in the truck and pop smoke when you stop. (this also works for Safari Brazil)
----Convoy Brazil----
For convoy missions there are a lot of details regarding the timing on when you move up, but most important thing here is smoke smoke smoke.
----Convoy Afghanistan----
Ditto
----Arena Brazil----
Coming soon
----Apache Afghanistan----
Coming soon
----Others----
Coming soon
P.S. Protective outfitting is highly recommended lol.

I got this in 87 hours, so it doesn't have to be necessarily as daunting as 150-200 hours. I used one booster for the last 5 days, and there was a double xp event in there as well that I utilized. Stats show 307 missions complete. Just posting this here as an example.
By IrishBeatdown on 30 May 2014 21:20
Congrats an thanks for the stats. But I did say it COULD take that long. Check my calculations.
I already advise to look for 2x xp events and using boosters.
By Torchstone on 31 May 2014 01:18
wondering when we'll see another 2xXP event. is it following the same model as the PC version? took about 2 months for that first event on consoles, perhaps there will be another in 2 more months.
and for those wondering, the 2xXP events DO stack with your boosters (essentially making is a 4xXP event).
By bean is not pro on 01 Jun 2014 19:53
Sorry guys 207* missions complete I read my tv wrong the other day. My plasma died and I have a tube TV now, impossible to read.
Never completed commanders orders intentionally, just focused on speedrunning hardcore. Often skipped regular and skilled missions for the day just to beat hardcore. Taking out earning crowns from the equation, there really isn't any reason to play anything but hardcore if you want to rank up quick.
By IrishBeatdown on 02 Jun 2014 02:21
^assuming you can actually beat hardcore. I don't care how amazing you are at the game: you CANNOT beat it by yourself; you need a solid team.
By bean is not pro on 03 Jun 2014 04:02
For anyone mentioning their finishing stats, please let us also know how much actual dinero you spent playing this game. I'm 10 bucks in myself, getting a booster Everytime they do 2x xp. The information is helpful for those working through this. Thanks!
By Torchstone on 07 Jun 2014 00:48
10 dollars for boosters, spent the rest on res coins. Lots of people online have spent 50-60$ on the founders pack judging by how many winter camo guns I see.
By IrishBeatdown on 07 Jun 2014 14:10
Thanks Irish. I have spent the same (sans res coins) while capitalizing on the 2x xp events. I think I have put in about 91 hrs if I recall correctly and I am about 84% of the way to rank 30. Of course having said that, many of those hrs have been screwing around and playing less profitable modes like TDM.
BTW, I need to update this don't I? lol I promise I will get around to it. Too many late nights at work!
By Torchstone on 11 Jun 2014 21:17
Thanks Kong. Yes now I think it makes sense. At any rate you are right about not bothering with them if they are any trouble. Last night I think it was get 20 headshots in slide on hardcore lol. Sorry Crytek. I will not waste res coins on a 10 boost in xp lol.
Thanks for checking back on us sloths.
By Torchstone on 24 Jun 2014 17:00
I finished today (July 3rd).
To give you an idea of how long this could take for you, I am listing my stats here.
I spent a total of US$10 in order to buy two 7-day boosters which I used during the 2x XP events that they had. I played some verses (including some contract boosting), but the bulk of it was coop.
The following stats are from the in-game tracker. Disclaimer: I am not sure if they are 100% accurate or not.
Total Playtime: 116h3m
Verses: 14h29m
Coop: 101h34m
--Rifleman: 1h39m
--Medic: 87h5m
--Sniper: 0h50m
--Engineer: 11h58m
Missions Completed: 306 (not sure how they got this number given the following info)
(Success/Fail)
Regular: 134/53
Skilled: 97/108
Hardcore: 56/170
That is 618 missions total but includes the missions that were failed (sometimes immediately after loading lol). This means that my average mission time was about 11 min.
By Torchstone on 04 Jul 2014 08:18
I unlocked this achievement the other day with around 120 hours total game time and with no money spent on the game at all.
By L J EDM on 12 Jul 2014 07:43
Yeah thanks to my wonderful tips!!! ;-P
Just kidding! Thanks for the update and congrats!
I still have a couple stripes to get so maybe I shouldn't have bought boosters lol. Well I didn't know I would need stripes at the time.
By Torchstone on 12 Jul 2014 16:31
There are a bunch of new levels. They are considerably harder. When they added them in it appears they completely randomized the matches too.
Which sucks....

So i am level 21 or 22 right now and i'm wondering if i could make it until the servers close? i am starting to give up because i keep failing on the hardcore ones, so i'm thinking about running skilled over and over again, but i'm still unsure if that would be enough to get to level 30 before the server shut down.
any suggestions?
By itz waz me on 20 Jan 2015 10:38
Hi. I'd just take a couple days of doing whatever I could average the points and then do a quick calculation. You also would be able to see if it is worth it to pay to get xp bonus. Good luck!
By Torchstone on 25 Jan 2015 05:40
You can't purchase Kredits anymore, Torchstone. So, unless you've bought Kredits before they announced the server closures, you won't be able to purchase an EXP boost.
By NeverUnlucky#344 on 25 Jan 2015 13:32
BTW, itz was me, it took me three days of grinding Hardcore to get from level 18 to 30 with the 4x EXP. You should be just fine if you play all day and have a decent team.
By NeverUnlucky#344 on 25 Jan 2015 13:33
well thats the problem, i don't have a decent team, and i have also given, up. it is way to depressing to keep losing right in the end of the hardcore missions.
By itz waz me on 25 Jan 2015 13:42
Thanks Bellsten. I thought that info would be better for those trying for the War Stories one since I am doing this almost everyday. But yes, for those focusing their efforts that is a very good thing to know so I'm adding it. This is why 2 heads are better than 1. And thanks for the confirmation on the boosters.

Thanks a lot Dano. Yeah my clansmen just told me about how they figured out the glitches on the mechs. I have done the Brazil one but I was alone. I'll add details when I have a better idea how to describe it. And yes the convoy mission where you lay down in the truck was the first HC mission I did. I also would recommend as you say, but we did it with a medic in front, another in back, an engineer in the middle, and a sniper and rifleman STANDING up in front. I think standing is important to keep bullets away from the guys on the floor and especially rocket blasts. The same "hiding" method can also be done on the boat safari. There are boxes on the boat, and if you have a medic and an engineer lay down in between them facing each other healing each other constantly you can get it done. Have two of those setup a going and the fifth can be anything else and constantly die (we had a rifleman).
By Torchstone on 12 May 2014 08:02
It's been quite a while since I've earned this achievement but I figured I'd come back and see if my tip got figured out while I wait for today's update. Those commander's orders I mentioned? The bonus doesn't apply to the daily first time completion bonus (likely why you keep seeing only a 9% bonus), but it does apply to VP and $, and the VIP boost is factored into that 10% as well. I haven't really been able to work out if you get the objective and then fail if you still get the bonus. That's the one thing I'm not sure of yet.
I highly recommend avoiding the commander's orders if they're something ridiculously difficult or time consuming (defib kills/butchers on hardcore, grenadiers/brainsmashers on any difficulty), but if it's something simple like "headshot 50 enemies" or "30 pistol kills", you can easily get it without adding more than maybe 30 seconds to the mission time.
