How to unlock the Dedication to the Cause achievement in Warframe - Definitive Guide

If you've already achieved max rank, this will pop retroactively.

Syndicates are unlocked at Mastery Rank 3. You choose one as a faction and turn a small fraction of your mastery into syndicate reputation. As you max out your reputation bar, you will need to sacrifice credits and items in order to progress to the next rank.

You can earn a maximum of (Mastery Rank + 1) * 1,000 reputation per day, so for instance, a MR3 player can earn 4,000 reputation a day, but a MR9 can earn 10,000. After reaching the first positive rank, you can also do faction missions for bonus reputation that does not factor into the above calculation. With loot radar mods, you can also find syndicate medallions, which can be redeemed for even more reputation whenever you'd like.

It's best to choose a single faction and stick with it, as earning reputation with one faction will earn half as much for another, but decrease reputation similarly across two other factions. This will eventually lead in Syndicate Death Squads which show up randomly, but are much easier to defeat than the Stalker, Zanuka, or the Grustrag Three.

Here is a list of syndicates. Cephalon Simaris does not have ranks, and I am not sure if Conclave counts, so I will be writing this as if you are only playing PvE. There is no "correct" syndicate to choose. At best, take a look at their Warframe augments and choose a syndicate for one you like. Unique secondaries and primaries are also available, but be aware you need to be Mastery Rank 8 and 12, respectively, to use them.

You will need 940,000 credits in total to reach Rank 5 in any syndicate. The items that must also be sacrificed change per syndicate and are listed on each syndicate's page on the wiki. Generalized, these are 500-1,000 common resources, 2 rare resources, a Forma, an Orokin Reactor or Catalyst, a Prime weapon part, and a Prime warframe helmet. Reactors, Catalysts, Forma and Prime parts must be built, not just the blueprint.

Achievement pops as soon as you sacrifice 500,000 credits and the Prime warframe helmet.

I will use my case as an example: I was max rank in Cephalon Suda
1. I purchased everything I could to get back down to almost zero in Cephalon Suda
2. I selected the New Loka Sigil so I could get max negative rank in Cephalon Suda
3. I played one game of Defense to get about 3000 point which took me to 96000 and wise rank in Cephalon Suda
4. Replace my Sigil with Cephalon Suda and ran the syndicate missions.
5. I hit 99K on my first mission and was given option to "offer" again
6. I had to have a Nova Prime Helmet and 500K to make the offer but it did not take them from my inventory
- hope that helps

"You will have to go down a level and reattain your title. This will involve recompleting the final sacrifice"

It won't actually, Update 16 changed it so you only ever need to make a sacrifice once.

Great soloution over all though

True and false, Hybridchild. If you reached max rank before Update 16, you have to do it over again. If you did it after the fact, you'll need to do it twice. I had to reattain the title the hard way.

This should be the type which auto-pops. Where can we open a thread with DE for a fix?

On the Warframe forums, but it should be noted that these were designed not to be retroactive.

I just saw that as well. This is a bit dumb, but at least obtainable. No Brainer almost has to be patched.

Not sure if I'm reading this correctly. If I started the game after the Update 16, I need to lose standing and drop myself down a level, then sacrifice and go back up to max level.

@Geoffistopheles "If you did it after the fact, you'll need to do it twice" - Do what twice?

Before update 16, will have to sacrifice prime part and credits again, after update 16 drop yourself and sacrifice but it doesn't need a prime part and credits, right?

I've been Max rank with the arbiters for a while, probably before update 16. I'm trying to decrease my rank but I need to join Red Veil. But I cannot earn any rep with Red Veil because I can't buy the sigil for it. Any ideas on how I can lower my Arbiters rank or somehow earn rep with Red Veil to lower it?

@qG Lecca : The long process would be to earn standing with the Steel Meridian to also earn half that standing to Red Veil until you can buy their sigil and earn directly with them to lower Arbiters of Hexis / Cephalon Suda...

Are you sure you don't already have it? I was able to buy a sigil while at -44,000 just by selecting Initiation, though it doesn't give you any confirmation that you've done exactly that.

I'm pretty sure I couldn't buy a sigil but I will have another look when I get home. I'll update then.

I can confirm all of the above. If you initiate with the opposing syndicate it will give you the first basic sigil (one with no extra % standing) but you will still earn that standing. As OneBad15 said. Spend your maxed syndicate standing then do a few missions to decrease it a rank. Earn the standing back up again and sacrifice for next title. Achievement popped for me and I kept the credits and item for the sacrifice.

Anyone have any suggestions for best way to earn credits for a faction and rank up your syndicate quickly?

Like keep playing different missions or are there certain missions that pay out better?

Reputation is a fraction of your earned experience, so anything earning a ton of experience. High level endless missions (survival, defense, interception) yield the best rewards. The specific mission most use for rep farming is Draco, on Ceres.

As for the syndicate missions that appear after rank 1, finite missions are best. Exterminate, Deception, and Capture are the best ones, in my opinion. Endless generally isn't worth the effort, as the medallions are significantly harder to find. I'll add that to the solution shortly.

this was posted in the no brainer achievement

Just wanted to clarify a couple of things.Firstly regarding the Syndicate Rank achievement, which as Megan has stated in a separate thread, we will be looking to make retroactive in the next major update. Our apologies that it doesn't already work this way, but hopefully it will before too long!

I just logged in and I unlocked the achievement due to it being retroactive with the new update. Just a heads up.

Faction rep is limited per day, which resets at midnight GMT. If you've gotten another login reward and still can't earn additional rep, I'd recommend contacting Warframe support via their website forums or Twitter.

How much reputation is needed to reach rank 5?

By hunterIV on 22 Feb 2016 18:05
A buttload.

Alternatively, assuming you rank up as soon as possible without any overflow (good luck) it will take 240,000 reputation in increments of 5, 22, 44, 70, and 99,000. More information is in the wiki page linked in the solution.

Now days achieving rank 5 "Kin" with the Ostrons of Cetus also unlocks this achievement. Will cost only 385K credits in total plus 3 blueprints to craft some trivial resources as well. Likely getting to rank 5 with the factions on the other free roam worlds works as well but I got it on Earth. If that's the case, getting rank 5 with Solaris United or the Ventkids will unlock 2 achievements in one. The Ventkids don't charge for ranking up; you just have to run their races a bunch of times.

I got mixed up there, you are correct.

If you reached max rank after Update 16, you only have to do it once. You've made the title sacrifice, so when you drop down a rank and immediately move up, it shouldn't ask you to re-sacrifice those items. If you reached max rank before Update 16, when you go for next title, you will need to make the sacrifice again.
