How to unlock the Egg Timer achievement in Warframe - Definitive Guide

You will need 3 items to start the Incubation process.

- Installation of Incubator Segment
- An Incubator Power Core
- A Kubrow Egg

Acquiring the Segment
The Incubator Segment is obtained in the first mission of the Howl of the Kubrow quest. The quest unlocks after defeating the Venus Boss: The Jackal located on Fossa. Quests are accessible through Navigation, then cn_RT to bring up your Quest menu. Upon completion of the first mission, you'll receive the Incubator Segment. Install it into the Incubator, just right of the Mods station.

Building the Power Core
Next is the Incubator Power Core. The blueprint for this can be purchased from the Market for 50,000cr.

Building a Power Core requires an additional:
- 100,000cr
- 4,500 Nano Spores
- 2 Control Modules
- 1 Argon Crystal
Once you have acquired all the components, it will take 8 hrs to assemble. You also have the option to purchase a Power Core from the market for 35p

Kubrow Egg
Final piece is the Egg. You can either:
- Purchase an Egg from the Market for 10p
- Get one as a reward from an Alert Mission
- Farm Kubrow Dens on Earth and wait for one to drop.
If you continue the Kubrow Quest, the next step happens to be finding an Egg. The quest takes you to E-Prime, Earth. However, it's an Extermination mission and a bit long. Since there's no guarantee the Egg will drop, you may have to repeat the mission until one does. Not very good for farming. A quicker mission is Pacific, Earth. It's a simple Capture mission. There are quite a few Kubrow Dens on this map, as wells as 2-3 dens at the extraction point. I got my Egg on Pacific in about 8-9 attempts.

Other Notes
- Eggs CANNOT be traded
- Players can only hold 1 egg in their inventory at a time.
- Incubation period for the Kubrow Egg is 48 hrs.
- This achievement is NOT retroactive, so you'll have to grow a new Kubrow.
- Achievement unlocked as soon as I started the process, using random stats.
- DNA stabilizers are NOT required for the achievement.

Same boat. I hatched a Kubrow a couple days ago and didn't get the achievement. Hopefully it will be patched soon and retroactive.

I was hoping yesterday's update (July 30, 2019) would fix this. Simply starting the game didn't seem to pop it, and I'm not starting a new Kubrow until they confirm it's been addressed. I've contacted DE via twitter & support, but haven't heard back yet.

What's the quickest way to get an Argon Crystal?

@Grant086 I'm starting mine in a few hours. I wanted to wait until the update was live before I started.

@OZRIC DUB Quickest way to farm Argon Crystals are Void: Tower I, II, III, IV Defense around wave 10+ and Void: Tower I, II, III, IV Survival around 10:00 minutes in.

Is this retroactive? Grew myself a Kubrow a couple months ago.

Not retro...time to grow a second puppy.

I also started the process yesterday and no achievement popped even though it appeared on the achievements app. I hope it's the case that the achievements unlocks after the 48 hour wait period is over :/

Mine popped when I started incubating, still hasn't hatched. Very glad this is done with randomized stats, I was worried from the achievement text that you'd need to use genetic lab templates.

So if I grew my Kubrow puppie (Muffin) before this title update, do I just need a second egg to grow a new Kubrow or do I have to get all the parts again?

I don't believe the achievement is retro. I would imagine you'd have to grow a new one. Now, if you had a egg incubating, during the time TU.17 went live, there's a possibility that the achievement would unlock, when the Kubrow hatched. Not certain though.

This is bullshit. I have a Kubrow. I've done a hundred missions with her. Micro$oft has basically allowed developers of bad games to keep people playing (and, in the case of free to play crap like this and Neverwinter, paying) by adding a constant trickle of achievements.

If Jupiter is locked, you'll need to beat the boss on Earth, then Mercury, then Venus, in order to obtain the Nav segment to Jupiter.

To gain access to the "Howl of the Kubrow' quest, you'll need to be @Mastery Rank 2.

Setting it to be your active quest, should give you access to the planetary segment it's on. If not, then you'll have to make a path to it, by completing the adjacent missions.

....or find someone who can taxi you there.

I found an egg on a mission but some how I lost connection to the server before I could complete it, do i have to farm for a new egg or is it still in my inventory? I don't know where to look to see if I have it

Go to the star map, select a planet, click the right stick and look at what resources are found around that planet. And Argon can be found in the void... usually 2-3 per mission if you smash every container in every room.

just a heads up, the latest patch 23.1.3 made it so that you get an incubator core for completing the earth-mars junction. If you have already completed the quest, the incubator core will be added to your inventory automatically upon logging in.

Is this currently glitched? Completed my Kubrow but no in-game achievement or xbox achievement and I can see that nobody has unlocked it for a month..

The achievement is bugged right now. I didn't get it either and wrote to DE support (July, 11th).
They wrote back that they are aware and currently working on it and I should look out for release notes for fixes in the future.
Edit: Didn't get the in-game nor the XBox achievement.

Have you checked your in-game tracker? If it's checked off, that's probably what they're going by. Giving support that discrepancy info might help them.

DE have responded to my thread. They are working on a fix and it should come in the next major update. https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1119065-egg-timer-and-tenn...

After months, finally yesterday I got the Tenno and Hooch achievo after doing a mission with my Kubrow.
Unfortunately Egg Timer didn't kick in as well. Maybe I have to incubate again?

Yes, you have to start a new incubation, unfortunately.

So the achievement pops after your kubrow egg hatches after the 48hr period? I got all the parts and begun the process yesterday and nothing happened. So I'm not sure if I did it wrong or the description is misleading

I can confirm that if you began Kubrow incubation before the title update went live you will not get the achievement. I had placed my kubrow egg in the incubator a day before the title update went live (even though the new achievements were there, they were not live) and once the kubrow was ready nothing unlocked. Now i gotta get another damn kubrow egg... facepalm

I completed 10 missions with my Kubrow after the update and the other achievement didn't unlock, so I would assume this achievement is still broken also.

I contacted customer support and they told me I unlocked this achievement on July 24. According to TA and Xbox I don't have the achievement. This leads me to believe that they might think they've fixed the achievement without it actually being fixed.

This will unlock during the Howl of the Kubrow quest. The incubator power cell requires an Argon Crystal which are only available in the void and the first junction to the void is in Phobos. They are also available as an Alert reward. You can also purchase an incubator power cell with platinum.

According to the current state, almost everything you need to raise your first Kubrow pet will be given to you for completing the “Howl of the Kubrow” task, which becomes available after you open Venus. The only exception will be the “Incubator Energy Core”. There are two options for obtaining it - the first is bought in the store for 35 platinum, the second is collected from a drawing, however, collecting it will require resources from Neptune and the Abyss, which will take you a very long time to get to. However, in one of the game updates in 2018, one core was added as a reward for opening the Mars Hub Station, so immediately after opening Venus, start working on opening this Hub Station to get your Kubrow as early as possible.
