How to unlock the That Which Does Not Kill Us achievement in Warframe - Definitive Guide

UPDATE - KUVA LICHES, MUCH LIKE SISTERS OF PARVOS, NOW END WITH A RAILJACK CONFRONTATION NODE. More on this below. Everything else in the guide is still relevant... I think.

Also update, this guide did not age well since the recent sisters of parvos update laugh

All the guides I've looked at were too long and contained too much useless information. Below is a succinct, bullet list of things you need to do, categorised in stages.

I will also, hopefully, keep my complaining to a minimum.

BEFORE YOU START:

The higher the level of your Lich, the higher the level of not only the Lich, but of all the enemies in the Lich controlled territories. If you don't have beasty weapons and Warframe builds, or a friend/s to carry you, don't bother with this achievement. At Lich level 5, enemies and your Lich will be between levels 90-110.

To summarise, you need to do the following:

- 01 Create a Kuva Lich
- 02 Level it to level 5
- 03 Level your Requiem Murmur 3 times to find which 3 Parazon mods you need to vanquish the Lich
- 04 Farm Requiem Relics that contain the Parazon mods you need
- 05 Farm those Parazon mods
- 06 Find out the correct Parazon mod order so that you can kill this thing and thankfully never do this again.
- 07 My experience murderising my Lich + IMPORTANT guide update re:final railjack confrontation node
- 08 What happens when you kill it and what to do

NOTE: You can do all these stages at any time and even together (for the most part). With that said, you can combine whichever ones you want/can.

ALSO NOTE: You can play coop with friends and level your Requiem Murmur's together, even if your Lich isn't controlling that particular node on the star chart.

ONE MORE NOTE: You can view your Lich by going to the star chart and it is a red square in the bottom right corner next to the nightwave tile. Or you can view it in the codex by going to the codex > Universe tab > Kuva Lich History

MORE NOTE: To find your Parazon and the mods, you find it in your Arsenal at the bottom of the list. There are 6 slots, the top 3 are for your Parazon mods (these offer no benefits to the player, they are just for killing Lich's) and the bottom 3 are for a new class of Parazon mods, like intruder, that help with hacking, also useless since you just use ciphers anyways.

--- 01 Creating a Kuva Lich and what to do next ---

- Look at one of the wonderful guides for the other achievement
- After it's created it will say some things you won't bother listening to and then take control of certain territories on the star chart.
- These territories are a red gooey Kuva looking colour.

--- 02 Leveling you Lich to level 5 ---

--- 03 Level your Requiem Murmur 3 times to find which 3 Parazon mods you need to vanquish the Lich ---

--- 04 Farm Requiem Relics that contain the Parazon mods you need ---

--- 05 Farm those Parazon mods ---

Rinse and repeat the last 2 sections until you have all the mods or the mods you need depending on which order you've done the stages in. You can also trade the mods if you are lazy and don't want to suffer through more unnecessary farming.

--- 06 Find out the correct Parazon mod order so that you can kill this thing and thankfully never do this again. ---

--- 07 My experience murderising my Lich ---

ONE MORE NOTE: If your Lich kills you, it will leave the game and you will have to quit and try again. Doing it solo was a little difficult at times because I was more careless than not. If you have friends in the game, have them do the work for you while you hide in a corner like a coward and when it's time, run out, assassinate it and then run away again. This way you reduce the risk of it accidentally killing you and forcing you to try another mission in the hopes that it will spawn again.
- The liches don't seem to flee if they kill you anymore so you might be ok. Though if someone can confirm that'd be great. I remember I died a handful of times against my sister of parvos and she did not flee...

--- 08 UPON KILLING YOUR LICH ---

Congratulations, you've killed it and you never have to do it again!

If I forgot something or if you'd like clarification on something, comment and I'll see if I can shed light on your queries.

And I also realise the irony of what I said about the beginning of the guide about the length of other guides. It's a convoluted new system so unfortunately it can only be so short.

If you're looking for tips and builds etc, there are a lot of Warframe creators out there where you can find builds for things. H3dsh0t and Tactical Potato are the ones I had used in the past.

FINAL NOTE: Ember deserved better. It's the end of the guide so my complaining is valid.

Yeah shame they nuked Ember, people will say press 4 to win was too easy but there's a million other exploits and chicken out tactics in this game. Running low level missions with bomb ass build was super fun and satisfying. Guess it's Volt's 4 now or just tank everything with our Egyptian bae. GG Devs >:(

My advice is to just try and do as much as you can. You might be able to level your murmurs to 3 and not bother ranking the lich up at all (initially). If it spawns just ignore it and run. That way you can get the bulk of it done with it at level 1 and the enemies at their lowest possible level. From there, do your best and try to get it to level 5. The recruitment chat is good for getting help from people. Just say you're trying to kill your level 5 lich and sometimes people will offer to help.

@Sera 100% agree, ember was perfect as is. World on fire + Firequake and also Accelerant, that's all you needed. Great CC frame before they changed her.

Also just a tip (like your guide mentions) it's a million times easier to just buy the 3 Requiem mods from the market rather then farming Kuva missions, hope to get lucky with the right relic drops, have void traces to level them and then again get more RNG for the right item. I bought 2 for 5 plat each and another one for 10 plat. Also definitely find out which 3 Requiems you need from killing Thralls whilst the Kuva guy is still level 1 or 2, cause having to kill a few dozen Thralls on level 110 is more annoying than anything.

Small correction, siphons have 30% chance to drop a relic - otherwise great guide!

So you complete a node once and it removes their influence? Does it come back eventually or? The only nodes I have left are mission types I'd rather not do and I haven't even leveled one murmur yet.

@ theNoseyParker thanks, I'll update the guide.

@ The Allslayer From what I can gather, if you clear a node, it will remove the influence and then another node will be taken over somewhere else in the star chart.

Sometimes when you finish a node it doesn't clear and you can do it again. I think this may be a bug though.

Ok I checked the wiki and it says they only take over more territory when they level up, if you clear all the nodes they level up automatically so it's not possible to keep them on level 1 until you've leveled all murmurs. Unless you can kill thralls in a mission and fail/leave and it keeps the progress?

@ The Allslayer hmmmm, that wasn't my experience, though they could have changed it with a recent update so I'm not 100% sure.

The final step now requires grinding railjack missions even after you kill the lich with 3 correct mods. Awesome.

Yeah it seems like they've added a new step where your lich will escape to a railjack mission. Worth noting that if you're doing it in a group, everyone has to have an active lich at the same stage in order to be allowed into the mission ane everyones lich will appear in the same mission. Unfortunately only the host will get the achievement, even if everyone has a rank 5 lich that is vanquished in the mission. Had to learn this the hard way so yay.

In case anyone is curious, I can confirm that killing a level 5 sister gives this achievement.

I can confirm that sisters still work for this. Achievement popped for me once i started traveling back to dry dock.

This can be easily solo’d with a stealth frame (Ivara or Loki) and i’ve heard frames like Nyx/Banshee that have debuff specials work too

I'm contradicting F4cile's comment that only the host gets the achievement in a group attempt although neither of my teammates were on Xbox. I risked a public match with two MR 20+ players where I was not the host because my lich was a royal pain to fight. Their liches collapsed fairly easily so I suppose they weren't rank 5 but we had to hammer my guy before he went down. Achievement popped when we arrived at the host's dry dock which was not in my dojo.

Did not unlock for me when I soloed my rank 5 sister, oddly enough the counter for completing the railjack node popped up but neither the in game counter or Xbox counter went up either. Very odd

After you make your Kuva Lich they will start at Rank 1. To Rank up a Kuva Lich you will need to lure them out and fail to assassinate them 4 times. To lure them out you will need to check the star chart to see which planet they have taken control of and kill their Thralls, this will annoy them and eventually they will come out to fight you. Once their first health bar hits 0 they will stagger and start to regenerate, go up to them and press and unless you have the correct Parazon mods equipped the Lich will kill you and rank up. Keep doing this till they are Rank 5. To kill them you will need to get the correct sequence of mods. You can obtain the mods as uncommon drops in the Requiem Relics which are obtained by killing Kuva Lich Thralls and from Kuva Siphon/Flood missions. You can learn which mods are required by killing Kuva Lich Thralls but you will still need to guess the order or you can attempt to randomly guess the mod sequence. Once you have the correct sequence you will drop the Kuva Lich and will be asked to Convert or Vanquish them. It doesn't matter what you choose but Vanquishing them gives you their weapon whilst converting does not.

To create a Kuva lich, you need to farm non-event Grineer missions of level 20+. When killing him, you need to press square to perform mercy.

After the Kuva lich is created, it will begin to spread its influence to different planets. Complete missions under his influence so that his irritation increases, and therefore the chance of him appearing on a mission. In each of these missions there will be slaves of the lich, on whom you should also perform mercy in order to find out the combination of mods necessary to kill the lich. When you perform a mercy on a slain lich with the wrong combination of mods, its level increases by one. Once you know the three mods needed to kill him, you can start inserting them into the parazon in different sequences, since they are also important.

The mods themselves, inserted into parazon, are taken from Kuva relics in the Kuva abyss. There are, in my opinion, eight options in total.

It sounds difficult, but in reality it takes 7-8 hours. It took me 5 hours from creating the lich to killing him at level 5 + several hours of farming mods.
