How to unlock the The War Within achievement in Warframe - Definitive Guide

Just to clarify some misinformation circulating on the internet and in-game:

-You NEED to have completed the Second Dream quest
-You NEED to have completed the Sedna Junction and it's requirements, even if you've already unlocked Sedna before Specters of the Rail and the new Solar Map
-You NEED to play through Pluto missions in order to reach the Sedna Junction before you can challenge the Saryn Specter (meaning you must have completed any missions on the white line that leads into the Sedna Junction)

On Orokin Principle Challenges to unlock the Sedna Junction:

-You CAN complete the same challenge type more than once and all attempts will count towards the Sedna Junction requirements (for example: The co-op platform challenge which rewards the mod Coaction Drift spawned on two different occasions for me, both were counted toward the requirement upon completion)
-For some of these you may want at least two players, the platform challenges can be done with two players and the use of specters/eximus/Loki decoy/using your operator's focus ability
-The music challenge room where you play Simon Says does NOT count towards the junction requirement
-These challenge rooms ONLY spawn on Lua, not in the void or on derelicts
-Multiple challenge rooms can spawn in a single mission, the most I've had is two
-Guides for each challenge room can be found here under the header "Halls of Ascension":
http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Orokin_Moon
-This is also a fantastic, commentary-free video demonstrating how to do each challenge solo (except the co-op platform one), great if you are also trying to complete the "Seven Principles" achievement:

Also, just some notes on the quest itself:

-You will need an archwing to complete part of the quest (Edit: The archwing does NOT need to be fully levelled, you simply need access to one) - Credit: Vr English
-There is a temporary "point of no return," so make sure you come equipped with your best gear
-Having an operator hood equipped will NOT prevent your operator's face from being seen in cutscenes

Good luck! You're in for a treat.

I've been having a pretty awful game breaking glitch with this quest. When you're on your ship controlling the operator trying to get to the cockpit, my game will either not open the first door at all, kill me over and over randomly regardless of health, and/or restart the whole section for no reason. All without being able to skip the 2-3 minute cutscene. To fix the door not opening problem, restart your game fully and try again. You have to stay alive until a waypoint is put over the door. If you die before that, no waypoint will show up at all and you'll need to start over again.

Still working on getting through the rest. Not looking good so far.

You can't abort the mission or play the game in any other capacity when in this section of the game, so I currently can't play at all with this glitch going on.

Do you get the mods every time? I already did them all once with the achievement prior to the rail way thing.

If you did the challenge rooms before do you have to do them again?

If you haven't done them since the solar map update, then yes, I'm quite sure you have to do them again

@WoodsMonk (I'm the solution author, I closed and reopened my TA account) sorry to hear that. Warframe is buggy at times, though I hadn't heard of this one. It may be worth reporting on the Warframe forums as it may be forgotten now as older quests tend to be.

To anyone reading this guide in the future, Warframe is an evolving game, and some information in this guide may be outdated. I believe star chart junctions have been iterated on since I wrote this, so those requirements may have changed. I can no longer edit this solution, but the core information regarding Orokin challenge rooms is still solid. I recommend consulting a more up to date guide on YouTube to see what the current requirements are to start the quest.

You now need just 1 Orokin challenge to unlock the Sedna junction which I got during the Second Dream quest. This game has changed frequently over the years and I recommend the Warframe wiki which is almost always up to date especially for the major quests.

Came to post a guide and you helpfully beat me to it.

Very helpful comments, for anyone panicking about the archwing section, you don't need it levelled up you just need to be able to use one.

Best guide to accessing War Within on the internet!

I would perhaps add comments in a spoiler section about the mission, the bit with the maw for example was a pain.

This is fairly straight-forward quest to complete, but don't be afraid to google a quick how-to guide for the "stealth" sections.

If you're struggling to unlock this quest, then don't be afraid to ask your clan (and/or alliance) or high-level friends to help clear out Pluto.

Note that the entire planet doesn't need to be completed, just the nodes leading to the Sedna junction.

To unlock The War Within you need to get to complete the Sedna Junction on Pluto.

The first mission is a capture on Lua, you need to chase down and capture the spectre that is summoned. There are also a bunch of orokin enemies once you start chasing the spectre.

The second mission is also a capture mission but on Jupiter this time, there is corpus enemies and the spectre using some of Frost’s abilities.

The third mission is an archwing mission on Sedna, you have to keep a ship between you and scanners. Once you are at the end you will drop back down to your warframe and have to defend a point from Kuva Grineer while you hack into a system. Then head towards the end of the mission, this will take you to the Kuva Fortress and you will be unable to do any other mission till the end of the quest. Once you get to the end of the base your warframe will be captured.

Once you return to your ship you will need to escape your ship. When you do you will find yourself on a snowy mountain. Make your way to the top and activate the statue. After falling into the pit make your way around to the right to avoid the underground worm and then across still avoiding the worm. Continue along the path and once you unlock Void Dash you will need to cross another path with a worm, should be easier now that you can dash. The last area for the underground worm has no safe spot so you will need to quickly void dash 3 times to get across. You will then need to void dash and blast the ice to make it across without falling down below. Make your way across using the void movement, the underground worms can’t sense you when you are in the void. After escaping the area with the worms you will come to another mountain path, continue following it. The transference button is then not whatever the game shows.

During the final battle you will have to fight and disarm Kuva Guards, stun them with then dash through them and then damage them with your tenno abilities or warframe. Once you kill all of them you need to fight Teshin. Block when he attacks and counter. Once he is defeated the Grineer Queen will attack you with her scepter. When her shield is down you need to quickly dash into her to steal the scepter. After this you will go back to the snowy mountain. Walk to the end and speak with Teshin to end the quest.
