How to unlock the This Is What You Are achievement in Warframe - Definitive Guide
UPDATE April 2018. I just can't get back to updating this--haven't played Warframe in a while and there have been so many huge changes. If someone still playing Warframe would like to update this, please ask me and perhaps you can make your own solution using the information here that is still accurate. Needed updates include: Amounts of focus gained per day, Eidelon lenses, focus tree changes and unlocking, and a few others.
UPDATE DECEMBER 2017.
To get the achievement, you must unlock the start of each node in one Focus skill Tree
There is also a Mastery Rank requirement for some of the nodes in the Focus Trees. Mastery Rank 6 is the lowest that will clear 3 Focus Trees: Naramon, Unairu, and Zenurik, otherwise you need MR 8 or 12!
For those wondering, here is a picture that shows what the Mastery Rank locked node looks like(Thanks to Tukaitaua):
Focus Skill Trees are basically skill/ability/power trees that unlock special abilities you can activate similar to your Warframe abilities.
The Focus area of Warframe is unlocked by completing the Second Dream quest.
In order to unlock the Second Dream quest, you have to complete the prerequisites:
Mastery Rank 3, the Natah Quest, and the Stolen Dreams quest.
The Natah quest can be started by scanning one of the blue sentients in one of the Underwater tileset missions on Uranus.
Focus is a type of XP gained in Warframe missions, that is only gained on Rank 30 Warframes or Weapons. The Focus XP can then be put towards different upgrades in the Focus Tree you've chosen. You can gain multiple types of Focus at once, but each type of Focus can only be put into the Focus Tree it matches.
Focus is gained by equipping a Focus Lens or Greater Focus Lens on a Warframe or weapon. The Lenses can be equipped when the Warframe or weapon(WoW) are at rank 30. If you forma the WoW, the Lens will not be active until you reach rank 30 again!
You can only equip 1 Lens or Greater Lens on any single WoW at one time. Replacing an equipped Lens will destroy it!
You can equip a Lens on your Warframe or weapons all at the same time though for maximum Focus gain.
To equip a Lens, got to your Warframe's current Mods loadout screen, then click in on the right stick.
A regular Lens gains Focus at the rate of 1.25% of the regular XP you gained on the WWoC.
A Greater Lens gains Focus at the rate of 1.75%!
For some time now regular Lenses have been available as sortie mission rewards, and Greater Lens blueprints have been available in the market for 200k? credits, which require 4 regular lenses to build a Greater Lens. However, the Greater Lens itself costs only 40 plat making it generally worth it to just buy a Greater Lens with plat if you can afford it.
The Focus Trees can be confusing at first; make sure to take some time to research which tree you really want for it's abilities.
The Focus required to completely unlock the first level of each node for each tree according to the warframe wikia: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Focus
is right here:
Note: Each tree costs 50,000 Focus to unlock if it is not your starting Focus choice
Naramon Tree requires 485,000 Focus All nodes unlocked by MR 6!
Unairu Tree requires 485,000 Focus All nodes unlocked by MR 6!
Madurai Tree requires 565,000 Focus All nodes unlocked by MR 12.
Vazarin Tree requires 635,000 Focus All nodes unlocked by MR 8.
Zenurik Tree requires 545,000 Focus All nodes unlocked by MR 6!
The daily focus cap limit is 250k per day
The Naramon and Unairu Trees are definitely the best choices at this time since they have 50k less focus required to complete the base level of each node!
The Zenurik Tree is the best known choice at this point if you won't be increasing your Mastery Rank much!(Thanks BIGB EC!)
(Vazarin has a useful ability called Mending Tides which allows you to pick up allies from a distance, and Zenurik has an even better ability called Energy Overflow which brings in energy at up to 4 per second)
It's highly recommended to use a Greater Lens on a WARFRAME, not a weapon, unless you have extra platinum or lenses. I personally got over 1 million Focus with a Greater Lens on Ember/Ember Prime. The World on Fire ability collected a LOT of focus over time. Choose carefully where you put your lenses however, as some Warframe abilities don't even count for Focus. Such as Valkyr's Hysteria mode, unless they've updated it, didn't count for Focus at all.
There are a few ways of tricking the game to get max focus, but they seem to get patched regularly. YouTube usually has video's of new ways of getting lots of focus easily!
There is also a new thing in the game that gives you 6x Focus bonus gain; called Convergence, it'll spawn randomly in the mission and has the symbol of a poison/nuclear facility. If you pick it up, it lasts for 45 seconds, and will respawn in missions periodically. It only counts for the person who picks it up, but will multiply by 6x any focus gains you get in that period!

To be really honest. I really can't stand this part of Warframe, because it takes everything up to this point and turns it on it's head--now suddenly there's a point to playing the same rank 30 warframe over and over and over instead of forma-ing it, etc. I'll try to help you with your questions, I appreciate your constructive criticism!! I have a very busy day tomorrow, but will try to get all your questions answered asap, and in the solution.
Briefly though: the names with the costs are the names of the Trees...
Yes, if you don't want to put anymore time than you have to into the game, then definitely go with Unairu or Naramon!
Effective ways, that was partly my second to last paragraph--in my experience, putting a Greater Lens on a Warframe instead of a weapon was far better and earned much more. They've made some major changes to the Focus system though recently.
One easy way if you can handle the difficulty is simply doing the mission Draco to farm Focus. That's how one of my friends did it. There are other highly specialized methods which I never was able to perfect though.

+1 for the cross-save method. i managed to load this up on my laptop which is bog standard too, so if anyone sees this and thinks they need a gaming PC then you need not worry as long as it can load the game and login your good!

Shadow's guide is excellent for obtaining focus, however DE has modified what is required to unlock all the abilities in the skill tree.
In order to unlock the focus trees in general, the prerequisite is still the same: Complete the Second Dream quest. However, there will only be a maximum of two nodes available to unlock in the focus tree after that quest. If you try and select some of the non-passive nodes, you will notice the game prompts with a message "Seek out the Quills". In order to unlock these remaining nodes in the tree itself, you will need to complete the following quests:
The War Within
Saya's Vigil
After completing both quests, go back to Cetus and find Konzu. He is the guy that hands out the main bounties for the Plains. He will be near the entrance to the Plains in the far back of the hub. If you face the entrance to the Plains from him, and follow the wall to the right, you will find a small path that leads to a door. Leave your warframe (+) and the door will open.
Inside you will find Quills Onkko. Talk to him and you will get your first Amp and some exposition. Head back to your ship and return to your operator. All of the nodes will now be available to unlock.

This guide will be current as of March 2021. Shadow has a good guide. I will be working off you have picked your focus school. Now the 250k focus limit is partially correct. That is the starting point. You also get an additional 5k per mastery rank you are. This is a soft cap. You can go beyond this. There are 3 methods of gaining lots of focus. I will state early that it does require some advanced items to get the most out of this.
1st method
With the helminth system. You can always subsume regular Equinox. Putting her rest ability on whatever frame you want. You can also use Equinox. Using a 265% range Equinox(prime) with her rest and rage augment. With about 155% duration. You also want lots of enemy radar. The weapon you want is the skiajati. Upon doing a finisher attack you will gain 5 seconds of invisibility. You will lose that if you do a non-finisher attack or activate an ability Now for the other items that will make this easier. The affinity booster smeeta kavat with the charm and tek enhance mod, mod preparation, rank 5 arcane energize, and arcane trickery. Energize gives 60% to get 200 energy every time you pick up an energy orb. Trickery gives 15% for 30 seconds of invisibility. The map you want is adaro on steel path difficulty. You unlock the steel path by unlocking all the nodes. The strategy is fairly simple. In her night form Cast her rest ability and get stealth finishers. Try to maintain a 500% with it. You especially want to keep it going when you collect the convergence orb.
2nd method
Capturing eidolons grants brilliant and radiant eidolon shards. Which are worth 25k and 40k respectively. With both good gear and squad you can easily gain all the focus you will need. The focus you gain via this method doesn't count against your focus limit. You can gain as much focus in a day as you have shards. To capture an eidolon requires you to remove its shield with your amp. You will know it is still shielded if you see purple over its health bar. After getting rid of all its shield it will flash red. I highly recommend you do a 777 amp. Though it is up to you. Then use a different weapon to destroy the synovia. The 1st one has 4 the other 2 have 6. You repeat the process of taking down the shields and destroying the synovia until all of them are destroyed. It will get up one final time in which you can damage it anywhere. To capture the 1st eidolon requires 2 charged lures. The other 2 eidolons require 3 charged lures. To destroy the synovia and damage the eidolon in its final form. I say the best option right now is the necramech voidrig with its 4th ability guard mode. Which is an exalted weapon. When properly modded will make short work of them.
3rd method
You can use whatever frames and weapons you want. Though you will want ones that don't rely on their 4th ability. The mode you want is elite sanctuary onslaught. At the start of each round, a convergence orb is automatically applied to you. That can scale up to 16x. The more rounds you go.

The Duviri Paradox Update
Steps for the fastest method I have been doing, and the best part there are no need for Lenses,
Requirements:
You have to finish the Duviri Paradox Quest
It is easy and you dont have to be a certain MR nor have good gear. *To start the quest, see Step 2*
Steps:
1- Choose/Equip the school you want to level up.
2- Go to Navigation and click on the Panel “Joy Spiral”. It is next to the railjack one and has a Tenno Face on it. *Top Right Corner*
3- Click on “The Circuit” and choose whatever reward you want to get.
4- Prepare your Gear, you choose it after you start the mission.
5- While doing your main objective, you will come across Hollows Trhax enemies which grant 2500 focus when eliminating them. *White looking enemies*
They respawn quite frequently, and if your teammates eliminate them you get the focus too.
Any suggestions to add/modify the solution feel free to tell me
Cheers!

This is the most grindy trophy in Warframe by far. After completing the Second Dream quest you will unlock the ability to pick a school and The Lotus will give you a lense. You will also need to finish Saya's Vigil and talk to the Quills in Cetus to unlock the rest of the abilities. The focus xp for each can be seen below:
- Madurai - 515,000 xp
- Vazarin - 565,000 xp
- Naramon - 450,000 xp
- Unairu - 515,000 xp
- Zenurik - 565,000 xp
If you want to go for the trophy the fastest Naramon is the least XP required to unlock each node. There is also a cap of 250K xp + 5k x Mastery Rank you can obtain every day, this resets at 00:00 UTC.
As for obtaining focus xp you are going to need to equip a lense to either a Warframe or weapon that is already rank 30. This will change a percentage of affinity obtained with that weapon or Warframe into focus xp. I would highly recommend buying at least 1 Greater Lense of the school you decided to go as from the Market. The lenses can also be obtained as a reward from Bounties on Cetus. Equip the lenses to your favorite Warframe and weapon. Equipping a Greater Lense to both your Warframe and Weapon will turn 1.75% of all affinity into focus xp. If you can get a Eidolon Lens that will give you a 2.25% conversion, and a Lua Lens will increase the rate to 3.25%. Also when you are in the mission there will be a focus orb that pops up, grab it if you can as it will increase the focus xp you obtain 6x for 45 seconds.
The best way to get focus XP is to do Elite Sanctuary Onslaught. You will need a pretty good team to be able to do it efficiently, but if you are unable to do this the higher ranking Dark Sector defence and survivals are quite good. Only take the Warframe and weapon(s) you have with focus lenses on them to the mission so your affinity isn't split over multiple weapons.
If you are able to killing the three Eidolon's on the Plains of Eidolon give you Eidolon Shards that can be traded in for massive amounts of focus.

The longest and most tedious trophy. To save time, I do not recommend choosing a Madurai school. There, unlike other schools, to unlock branches, you need more focus and rank 12. Upgrading branches and increasing capacity is not necessary.

With the addition of the massacre in the sanctuary, focus is gained just like that (in the massacre) if there is a lens. This allows you to gain focus very quickly.

I’ll write specifically for trophy hunters.
Doing this trophy solo will take a very long time. If you can withstand 15 waves on Akkad, then you will get 8-10k at a time (provided that you select multipliers and buy an experience boost + 2 lenses). A total of about 50 times (see below) to open the entire branch.
Farm only in Akkad (for now).
In a group of 2 people and 20 waves + boost + constant increase in the multiplier, the focus comes out to about 35k (with the condition of 2 lenses). Lenses are only on the warframe and weapons, we remove the rest. For 3 visits, the daily limit is 100k. To unlock all of Naramon you need 486k focus. Total 5 days MINIMUM.
If there are 3-4 people and 25-35 waves, then 100k can be achieved in literally 1-2 hours.
