How to unlock the Death Incarnated achievement in Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr - Definitive Guide

Massacre bonuses are granted for completing specific feats during combat.

The "Angel of Death" bonus is awarded by getting three critical hits with no more than three seconds between each one.

This should pop easily through normally playing the game after a
time but to make it easier you can invest in the critical hit skill tree or equip any gear that increases critical hit chance. Remeber the more frequently you hit the more likely you are to crit regardless so any fast firing weapon or area of effect attack will increase crit likelihood also.

I've noticed also that my achievement tracker for this achievement kept going up steadily toward completion, but I only got the screen pop-up for Angel of Death maybe 8 or 9 times total by the time the achievement unlocked. Then again, I've noticed the achievement trackers and the Heroic Deeds trackers in-game rarely seem to match for many of the achievements. For example, the Heroic Deeds tracker for side missions shows me with 12 of 25, but the achievement tracker shows me at 78%, which would be 18 or 19 of 25. I've had numerous other achievement unlock either before or after the Heroic Deeds tracker showed them as complete, as well. Oh well...

Autogun + Digital Weapons makes this a breeze.

I've been getting it quite a bit with just a Needler Rifle on my Assassin by spamming the A button attack. This is, of course, after maxing the Ranged Combat skilltree to maximize Crits through it.

Maybe it was changed on the last update, but the Angel of Death bonus is awarded for getting 3 CONSECUTIVE critical hits, I was getting even 3 on the same second but no award.
And there's something I'm missing, not all of them count. Im pretty sure it's about not being hit meanwhile. So the correct description is "3 consecutive critical hits without being hit".
Anyway Capn Beav was right, digital weapons make this relatively easy.

Noticed this wasn't unlocking for me even with over 50% Crit Chance. With the latest season update, Neocore changed the requirements:
https://neocoregames.com/en/community/hub/content-update-for...
I realize that's the PC version notes, but that update has now come to consoles as well.

FWIW, this achievement is currently broken, given the current discussion in the neocore forums.

https://neocoregames.com/en/community/hub/unable-to-obtain-a...

A fix for PC version is already out, consoles are lacking behind. Current ETA is end of July.

@motter - No, he's right. I got the achievement to track last night.

See my comment in his solution for more details.

Cool - could it be that it only works reliably with Assassin Class? I‘m around lvl75 Crusader even though the screen is full of yellow DMG numbers there‘s no progress.

@motter I popped this yesterday with a lvl 72 crusader. Chrit class maxed, melta-gun with crit chance and fully stacked with +1 and +4 crit chance sockets. It is a pain to get it reliably but does work. I struggled to get it on anything below character level as you want your AoE and DoT attacks to keep hitting, which is easier on ibtel and void missions. Obviously you still want to have a big a group as possible when spamming all attacks. Hope this helps.

Got this today for 100%, this achievement is working again. Just to note, it may appear when checking achievement progress that it is not going up.

It is though and you can check the actual progress by pausing the game, going to the 'Achievement' option and checking the achievement. After you back out and keep playing, the achievement progress will be at the actual number.

Yeah, after patch a single shot (Grenade Launcher) into a group with 15+ yellow numbers and instantly Angel of Death triggered (with 30% Crit Rate). This is was not the case before - so it was somewhat buggy (maybe related to weapon, other equipment or skills). The patch fixed some AoE damage stuff as well and since I'm using Grenade Launcher, it could be related.

Anyway, game done, finally. Wouldn't be unhappy if there are new achievements in the future.

OK, now I get how this works, you worded this a little oddly, or it somehow went over my head. You have to get the three crits right after another. You can't have one crit, then a normal hit, but then get two more crits within 3 seconds of the first crit. It has to be crit, crit, crit.

@motter - I've played all 3 other classes to level 60+ and never got any movement on the tracker.

It should probably have an (Assassin Only) text designation like the Tech-Priest's achievements do. Otherwise it seems like it'll just come naturally like the massacre and killstreak ones.

I added a comment in the other solution that has more detail, but it turns out that if you have an Assassin in your group, and they make it proc, you'll get credit, too. I was playing an Assassin at the time, so I'm not sure if you have to be playing the Assassin for it to track or not. I know this is only slightly helpful, but if you know or find someone who can reliably pull it off, you can get the achievement pretty passively.

If this is indeed true then the following information is some what outdated but should still help pop the achievement.

Critical chance caps at 50%
Supreme Critical chance caps at 50%
You'll pretty much need a full 100% although I did get away with having 97% a few times.
I used the ranger...assassin whatever class. (I forget what she's called)
I wouldn't recommend any other class for this achievement.
I don't remember my build but I did use the grav-gun and pretty much every perk/upgrade that involved crit

The digital weapons skill is handy but it only counts as normal crit chance. Regardless of the 30% it gives you, it won't exceed the 50% cap.

Edit:
AllOvaMyself adds:

Assassin Class

"So to elaborate on Laserbeam's solution, I'll give you the gear, perks and all that I've got:

Character

Attributes:
Work toward maxing Bloodlust to 25 - You'll get +5% Supreme Crit Chance and Crit Strength for 5 seconds on kill. Also keep in mind I do not have this yet and still managed to get it to proc, so it will only make things easier, I'm sure.

Perks:
Frenzon Dispenser - +10% Crit Chance/-10% Max Health
Keen Fury - +1% Supreme Crit Chance and +1 Crit Strength for 5 seconds on kill, stacks 10 times
Stagger Exploitment - +5% Supreme Crit Chance and +10 Critical Hit Strength against debuffed enemies

At level 59 you'll unlock Designated Marksman which has for all ranged weapons +5% Supreme Crit Chance, +5 Crit Hit Strength and +15% damage bonus and tighter shot spread (shot spread is irrelevant with a Grav-Gun). I do not have this yet and will likely swap it in for Stagger Exploitment for a more guaranteed buff.

Inventory

Gear:

Obviously anything with Crit Chance is ideal. My gear has other enchants, I'm just listing the Crit Chance stuff or we'd be here all day.

Eye implant (purple) - +3.8% Critical Chance
Digital Weapons (relic) - for the Crit Chance boost
Hololithic Armour (purple) - I have slotted the Psalms Iron and Binharic. Iron gives 1% Supreme Crit Chance for 2 seconds on kill and Binharic doubles the effect duration.
Inoculator (green) - if you have a Yellow or Multi-Colored Slot, you can put in the Frenzon Component which gives 10% Supreme Crit Chance and +40 Crit Strength for 5 seconds on use of the Inoculator - if you can slot multiple, even better. Pop this along with Digital Weapons. I also have another Iron Psalm slotted into it.
Grav-Gun (Archeotech Relic) - +7.3% Crit Chance
Signum (green) - +3.4% Crit Chance

Passives

Ranged Combat:
Starting in the upper right, there are 4 +1% Crit Chance nodes you can unlock.

Single DPS:
Starting in the upper left, go down 3 spaces to find Cortical Pumps which has +5% Crit Chance for Single Target skills for the first hit on an enemy. Grav-Gun basic attack is Single Target.

Critical Hits:
Max this out.

Suppression:
Top middle is Natural Predator which gives +2% Crit Chance when Suppression status is Protected (green).

My Critical Hit Chance Base is 45% standing still but I use the Digital Weapons and Inoculator together to get those boosts. You should be able to buff yourself and charge large groups with just the basic A attack.

Hope this helps."

Okay, so I used the Assassin (now level 52) and pretty much focused everything on crit chance, and even though I didn't see it in game, I've got 6% progress on the achievement now. This means I've procced it twice.

So to elaborate on Laserbeam's solution, I'll give you the gear, perks and all that I've got:

Thanks for the detailed description. I am too lazy to make another character and try this, but I might if they don't put a patch out soon.

Thumbs up from me.

For what it's worth, I have some semi-good news on this:

I was playing with a couple of people who had characters that were level 100, where I started at 52. A Psyker and an Assassin. The levels were so out of my league, at one point I was -103% Damage Dealt and +408% Damage Taken. Anyway, it didn't matter much because these guys were so OP they just waded through all the enemies. My experience was largely running around to pick up piles of loot. I rarely, if ever, fired my weapon.

So I got the bright idea: I can't kill the enemies, but maybe I can get strings of crits to get progress toward this achievement. I tried a couple of times, but was pretty sure I didn't get any progress. So I go look to check at my measly 6% down at the bottom of the achievement list.

But it wasn't there.

I looked further up and, sure enough, I had 56% progress now.

So I tested again with another level, didn't fire a shot and when I looked, I was now at 63%.

Then the Assassin player dropped out and every level after, I got no progress on the achievement playing with only the Pskyer.

So I think if you have another Assassin in your group and they manage to proc this, you will also get credit.

Again, hope it helps.
