How to unlock the Judge and Jury achievement in Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr - Definitive Guide
there are 2 types of executions: auto and manual, both count. the auto ones are done by just attacking with a melee weapon dreadnaught sized elite enemies.for the manual ones you need to have unlocked the appropriate skill tree first(5000 melee kills).note that you cannot get any before having spent skill points to unlock them(you can always respec later)or equipping gear that boosts the execution %.attacking enemies with melee will occasionally leave them with 1 hp and open them up for the execution(prompt to press A to execute).i never managed to get a single one that way until i changed the controller layout to advanced.doing so will move the regular attack to LT and leave the execution to A while the base one had the attack and execution both performed with A thus messing everything up.

I have been incrementally tinkering with my build ever since getting an Eye implant with an execution chance. Nothing was working (even after unlocking the Execution tree) until finally I swapped my Offhand weapon from a Pistol to a Suppression Shield. In two missions since suddenly my tracker is up to 18% (and that's with only: An eye implant granting 3.8% chance and 4% chance from the execution tree).
Also worth noting I had not been getting ANY of the 'auto' executions before on Sentinels etc, but these have also started now.

I've found aiming for missions just slightly over my power rating means I'm not always one-hit killing basic grunts, and that seems to have upped my chances of getting the execution prompt - it's still hella rare though. I might see three or four in a 15 minute mission even with all chance boosting skills.
