How to unlock the Happily ever after... achievement in Warhammer: Chaosbane - Definitive Guide

I am thinking that you can do the same thing as in the playstation version, let me know if this works

First finish the game with one character.
Then load up a level 1 character with the second controller.
Go into the boss rush and beat a boss.
Quit the game and load up the game with the second controller.
Once in the game, you can load up the first controller with a new character.
I suggest to turn the difficulty level to very easy.
Start a boss rush and beat a boss.
Once you have defeated the boss, then move the character over to the tower. (Shown in video)
This will prompt the Boss rush screen, then the trophy will appear.

Rinse and Repeat until you have completed all the characters and you will have the Happily Ever After Trophy.

You can view it here

Thanks

Works. Genius. This is forcing Lord of Change to be Level 2. Thus killing him triggers story complete.

It works, but you’ll definitely need a second profile, and it’s kind of a pain.

Awesome.
Is a bit of a faff - but waaaaay quicker than replaying the whole game with five more characters!!

Can confirm this works. First additional character went really smooth and then got a little clunky. I played through with Elontir normally then used this for Konrad, Bragi, Elessa and the dwarf gunner (forgot her name already). Didn't have to use the witch hunter.

Took maybe 45 minutes (also spent a relic hunt using my main to level up my second profiles character to speed up the boss kills).

Massive time saver, thanks!

Great solution. After standing in front of the tower and skipping the notification about relic hunts my achievements weren’t popping at that time. I had to exit to main menu and load each character again for them to pop. So don’t panic if you don’t get an achievement pop at the same time the OP was getting trophies to pop

It is possible to get this achievement by only playing through the game once. If you understand how cloud saves work on the XBox, you already know what to do. I'll detail how I did it when playing with my girlfriend, but there are other ways that might also work, I'll just detail one way that works for sure and has zero risk of you messing up if you follow it to the letter.

So, first, you gotta play the game coop with someone until you complete the quest The Fane of Forbidden Secret during chapter 4. You'll receive the quest The Court of Axarath, but I did not talk to the NPC to start it (I don't know why this is done at this moment, I was just following the guide for PlayStation and they make the backup save at this point. It might be possible to do it one quest later, but I did not want to risk or test it out, so I followed what I knew worked for them).

After that, go and make a level 1 character from each other class (including the gnome, as it seems to be needed). Make them for your account and for the other account, if you want both accounts to have all achievements, like we wanted. wink This step is to avoid a somewhat harmless glitch that might happen to you. My girlfriend created her character when joining my game and they all saved fine. When I did that while joining her game, they were not being saved properly, every character I made was overwriting the previous one. It did not impact the achievement in the end, but it was weird and making the characters on my save file before prevented this to happen.

Close the game and stay a while on the dashboard. That is to make sure your save syncs to the cloud.

Now, disconnect from XBox Live. Make the other account start the game with the character that's in the final quest and you join with one of the level 1 characters. Put the game on very easy and just rush through everything (it doesn't matter at all if the level 1 character dies and stays dead).

Kill the boss from the quest you are at (random dungeon, so you'll have to search for the way everytime), start the next one, kill the final boss, go back to town, say ok to all messages, exit to the main menu of the game.

Now, erase the save file that you used the character to kill the final boss. Since you are offline, you can only erase from the console.

Connect to Xbox Live and open the game with the account that just completed it with a level 1 character. You should get the achievement as soon as you press cn_A to start.

Close the game and open it with the other account that's killing the boss for you. When you press cn_A you'll download your save from the cloud, right before the start of the quest again. Do the same for all character and when you do the last one, you'll get the achievement for all characters.

If you want to be 100% safe. NEVER use one of your two main characters online. Just make another one from the same class and do it like this, so you can be 100% sure you got the achievement before messing the final boss savegame by going online.

If you want both accounts to have the achievements, just do the same for the other account this time.

I hope that was clear, in short it is:

- Have a level 1 character from all 5 classes on any account you want the achievement
- Close the game and sync both accounts saves to the cloud
- Disconnect from XBox Live
- Open the game with the account that has the high level character to kill the final boss
- Kill the final boss while your level 1 character is in the game
- Erase the local save for the account with the high level character that killed the boss
- Connect to XBox Live, open the game with the account that had the level 1 character
- Achievement pops you're set for this one. Close the game
- Open it with the other account, get your cloud save back

Now you're just repeating the steps for the other characters, until you have the achievements.

For Series X, the DLC comes with the game. So yeah, you need the extra characters in this version, there's no way around it.

Thank you very much. It saved a lot of time. I unlocked the separate achievements for each 4 characters and then I played Keela too (gnome) but the ‘happily ever after’ achievement didn’t unlock. I am guessing I need the dlc character as well (witch hunter). Anyone knows about this?

If you haven't purchased the DLC character you don't need it, I did it without it. I read some people say that if you have purchased it, then you also need to complete the game with him. If you are playing the Series version that has all characters, you also need it.

I have not purchased the dlc character yet but it didn’t unlock. I am playing the version which came to Xbox gold free games last month so I am not sure if it’s the Series version. I googled and found conflicting information about it but it didn’t pop up for me anyway.

They gave the xbox one version of the game with gold, so yeah, the dlc character is not required. This unlocked fine for my gf, but for me it did not at first. I then made a level 1 character, same class as my leveled up character and that did the trick.

Couple of questions

1) Is playing in coop up to that final quest mandatory, or can you play solo till then?

2) Do the level 1 characters have to be done offline, or can you possibly do it while still connected to LIVE since you still only delete local saves?

By Ahayzo on 23 Oct 2021 01:06
Playing coop is not mandatory since it's drop in drop out. You just need the second account on that final quest.

You can do it online, I just chose to do it offline to be 100% safe my save would not sync to the cloud and screw me. Online there's always the risk of the save syncing or even deleting the wrong one, but yeah, it should work fine.

So I just want to confirm. I don't have the DLC, however, this achievement did not pop for me until after I beat the game with the 4 original characters AND Keela. This was on the Series X.

Just play through the story with each character. After the final boss with the last character the achievement will pop. Just put the game on very easy and blaze through the story. Can be done in 12-14 hrs.

Unlock at the 4th for me without start playing with keela.

So, just finish with four "legacy" chars seems enough.

Put on Very Easy and just run past all the enemies, save a few areas where you have to kill them as the objective, and you can get through it pretty quick. Sometimes may have to kill enemies to get them out of the way if you get stuck, but I found most of the time I was able to just run by.

Got it after finishing with the 4th character. I did not create an engineer, ever.
I know I finished a full run with Bragi in a little less than 3 hours. I was going quickly, but I wasn't rushing it.

Seems like the new patch added new requirements to the achievement. I just finished the game with Elontir, Vollen, Bragi and Elessa, got their respective achievements but did not get this one. Gonna finish the game with Keela now.

Thanks for the comments regardig Keela - I can confirm she's now a mandatory character for this achievement. It's just a shame this game's so fucking repetitive and limited. Had they put more effort into its ridiculously poor environmental variety, the game could've been so much better. 😐

I unlocked this yesterday by finishing the game with Keela (previously I had finished the story with the first four characters). So, at least for now, the witch hunter is still not necessary for this achievement.

I asked a few recent completions of this whether they unlocked this without Keela and they all did, however i had to complete the game with Keela to get this to unlock. I *did* start a campaign with her before i finished the game with the archer character not sure if that may have effected things with how buggy this game seems to be.

There is a glitch in the game to prevent you from going through the game 4 times.

We completed the game with one character and create a new one, for whom we need an achievement, which can be done on minimum difficulty, and after the prologue we immediately go to the “Hunt for Relics”. The achievement will be given after completing 1-3 hunts.
Trophies for character completions always fell out to me after I closed “Invasion of Slaanesh” (Forest map). There is a suspicion that she somehow still plays a role in obtaining achievements.

First, I closed 3 cards with the second character and the third was a forest - the trophy fell out.
I created a third character and I immediately got the forest card - the trophy dropped after it was closed.
With the fourth player I closed cards 5-6 and two of the bottom ones were forests, but the trophy did not fall out.
I went to the menu, turned it on again, raised the difficulty to medium and discarded hunting cards until the forest fell out, completed it and the trophy fell out.

This method works on the first version of the game, but it may be fixed in the future.
Save your time))

I’ll add the tip with 2 gamepads described above. Firstly, thanks to the author for the detailed explanation of the working method, and secondly, online players with pumped up characters are not needed to complete the last boss. On “very low” difficulty, the final boss is easily killed by a level 2 character who has just emerged from the prologue. One phase requires 8-10 hits with a basic attack. The boss does almost no damage; he only removed 200 HP out of 800 for the entire time.

You need to go through 6 (not 4 as written above), namely 6 characters. I passed with the first 4 characters and the trophy did not drop (the 4 on top - I received a trophy for each). But this trophy did not fall. In other words, I have one trophy left until platinum (And this one). I passed it myself!!!

Addition: The game needs to be completed with 6 characters - CHECKED!!!

It is necessary to pass the test with the characters that are purchased. I did it by copying saves to the cloud with a friend, saved before the last boss.

My friend and I found an algorithm of actions that will lead to 90% success, following the hint above.
We are interested in the card "Invasion of Slaanesh" and need a lvl 50 character.
1. Create a character for whom you need an achievement.
2. Both set the difficulty level to "very high"
3. Invite a lvl 50 friend to your game
4. You buy the smallest card for 5k “Invasion of Slaanesh” (you, not a friend)
5. You go with him to this map, he quickly takes out everyone, including the boss of the level of this map.
6. Get out, this achievement is popping up on the loading screen!
It works on game version 1.02, but it's pure randomness. Try this scheme several times if it doesn’t work the first time.

Can be taken in 1 playthrough. And so read carefully, it works on the latest patch, considering that this is the PS5 version of the game, and considering the situation in Russia, not everyone has PSN+.
All you need for the trophy is 2 gamepads. AND Two players (if you play with a friend in co-op/not on the same console)
The method only works on one console! (It won’t work in co-op, the act/battle with the final boss is not saved, it throws you into the prologue)
1-Go through the game with pleasure, reach the last boss.
2- Launch a second account
3- Connect with a second account, create a character, enter the portal, exit the game. (Now on your second account there is a character who has the Throne of Lies quest)
4- Go to the menu on your main account, change your character and create the 5 remaining characters. Close the game
5- launch the game from the second account (on which you just created the character)
6- Select a character on whom the Throne of Lies quest is already active, on the second gamepad, launch your main account, click Options, and select the character you created in step 4. Select a character, connect and receive the Throne of Lies quest. Click options, manage players and click disconnect( based) . Options again, and connect the remaining 4 characters. The result is that you have all the characters with the Throne of Lies quest.
7- Now ask a person / friend with a pumped up character to stupidly clear the final boss for you
IMPORTANT. You must be Player 1 and run the dungeon yourself. As a result, when you exit the boss arena, you receive trophies for each Persian, and then a trophy for completing the game with all Persians.
———————-
An important point, when playing solo you need to find a player who will drag you along with a pumped-up character
My friend and I completed the game together on different consoles and therefore we already had level 50+ Persians. The matter remained small. It took ~15 minutes to create new characters and boss rush.
I hope I explained everything clearly and helped, good luck to everyone in knocking out platinum

In general, people, the trick for transferring saves works from the cloud, it works, but there is one trick - trophies for Persians from the regular game fall on both accounts, but to get this trophy you need EACH of the 6 Persians to personally start the final quest, that is, you each of the 6 characters must enter the portal of the last boss and in no other way, if a partner enters or you log in as a character from a second account (gamepad), there will be no trophy. I fiddled around for a long time, creating new characters, until it dawned on me that I had to do just that and the trophy immediately fell on Elf, although they played the game 2 times, but my daughter came into the portal, who was playing on 2 accounts, and this is the case for me as a trophy. it didn't work.

Passed with a friend on 1 screen (over the network I think the essence is the same)
You can easily reduce 4 playthroughs to 2.
They did this:

  • We go through the game together until the final battle
  • Disconnecting from a friend (or him from you, it doesn’t matter)
  • I pass the boss solo, I get an achievement for completing it
  • I connect to a friend (he has a save left before the boss battle)
  • I'm creating a new character
  • Let's go through the last boss together
Maybe you can do it in 1 playthrough with a friend.
If, when creating a character in a friend's session, the save is transferred to our character. But we didn’t try that because... The first couple of times we passed just out of interest, and then it was for achievements.

PS If you don’t know where the last boss is and accidentally went to him, you can just die and give up.
