How to unlock the Happily ever after... achievement in Warhammer: Chaosbane - Definitive Guide
I am thinking that you can do the same thing as in the playstation version, let me know if this works
First finish the game with one character.
Then load up a level 1 character with the second controller.
Go into the boss rush and beat a boss.
Quit the game and load up the game with the second controller.
Once in the game, you can load up the first controller with a new character.
I suggest to turn the difficulty level to very easy.
Start a boss rush and beat a boss.
Once you have defeated the boss, then move the character over to the tower. (Shown in video)
This will prompt the Boss rush screen, then the trophy will appear.
Rinse and Repeat until you have completed all the characters and you will have the Happily Ever After Trophy.
You can view it here
Thanks

Works. Genius. This is forcing Lord of Change to be Level 2. Thus killing him triggers story complete.

It is possible to get this achievement by only playing through the game once. If you understand how cloud saves work on the XBox, you already know what to do. I'll detail how I did it when playing with my girlfriend, but there are other ways that might also work, I'll just detail one way that works for sure and has zero risk of you messing up if you follow it to the letter.
So, first, you gotta play the game coop with someone until you complete the quest The Fane of Forbidden Secret during chapter 4. You'll receive the quest The Court of Axarath, but I did not talk to the NPC to start it (I don't know why this is done at this moment, I was just following the guide for PlayStation and they make the backup save at this point. It might be possible to do it one quest later, but I did not want to risk or test it out, so I followed what I knew worked for them).
After that, go and make a level 1 character from each other class (including the gnome, as it seems to be needed). Make them for your account and for the other account, if you want both accounts to have all achievements, like we wanted. This step is to avoid a somewhat harmless glitch that might happen to you. My girlfriend created her character when joining my game and they all saved fine. When I did that while joining her game, they were not being saved properly, every character I made was overwriting the previous one. It did not impact the achievement in the end, but it was weird and making the characters on my save file before prevented this to happen.
Close the game and stay a while on the dashboard. That is to make sure your save syncs to the cloud.
Now, disconnect from XBox Live. Make the other account start the game with the character that's in the final quest and you join with one of the level 1 characters. Put the game on very easy and just rush through everything (it doesn't matter at all if the level 1 character dies and stays dead).
Kill the boss from the quest you are at (random dungeon, so you'll have to search for the way everytime), start the next one, kill the final boss, go back to town, say ok to all messages, exit to the main menu of the game.
Now, erase the save file that you used the character to kill the final boss. Since you are offline, you can only erase from the console.
Connect to Xbox Live and open the game with the account that just completed it with a level 1 character. You should get the achievement as soon as you press to start.
Close the game and open it with the other account that's killing the boss for you. When you press you'll download your save from the cloud, right before the start of the quest again. Do the same for all character and when you do the last one, you'll get the achievement for all characters.
If you want to be 100% safe. NEVER use one of your two main characters online. Just make another one from the same class and do it like this, so you can be 100% sure you got the achievement before messing the final boss savegame by going online.
If you want both accounts to have the achievements, just do the same for the other account this time.
I hope that was clear, in short it is:
- Have a level 1 character from all 5 classes on any account you want the achievement
- Close the game and sync both accounts saves to the cloud
- Disconnect from XBox Live
- Open the game with the account that has the high level character to kill the final boss
- Kill the final boss while your level 1 character is in the game
- Erase the local save for the account with the high level character that killed the boss
- Connect to XBox Live, open the game with the account that had the level 1 character
- Achievement pops you're set for this one. Close the game
- Open it with the other account, get your cloud save back
Now you're just repeating the steps for the other characters, until you have the achievements.

For Series X, the DLC comes with the game. So yeah, you need the extra characters in this version, there's no way around it.

Thank you very much. It saved a lot of time. I unlocked the separate achievements for each 4 characters and then I played Keela too (gnome) but the ‘happily ever after’ achievement didn’t unlock. I am guessing I need the dlc character as well (witch hunter). Anyone knows about this?

Just play through the story with each character. After the final boss with the last character the achievement will pop. Just put the game on very easy and blaze through the story. Can be done in 12-14 hrs.

12-14 hrs per character or for all characters?

Per character

There is a glitch in the game to prevent you from going through the game 4 times.
We completed the game with one character and create a new one, for whom we need an achievement, which can be done on minimum difficulty, and after the prologue we immediately go to the “Hunt for Relics”. The achievement will be given after completing 1-3 hunts.
Trophies for character completions always fell out to me after I closed “Invasion of Slaanesh” (Forest map). There is a suspicion that she somehow still plays a role in obtaining achievements.
First, I closed 3 cards with the second character and the third was a forest - the trophy fell out.
I created a third character and I immediately got the forest card - the trophy dropped after it was closed.
With the fourth player I closed cards 5-6 and two of the bottom ones were forests, but the trophy did not fall out.
I went to the menu, turned it on again, raised the difficulty to medium and discarded hunting cards until the forest fell out, completed it and the trophy fell out.
This method works on the first version of the game, but it may be fixed in the future.

I’ll add the tip with 2 gamepads described above. Firstly, thanks to the author for the detailed explanation of the working method, and secondly, online players with pumped up characters are not needed to complete the last boss. On “very low” difficulty, the final boss is easily killed by a level 2 character who has just emerged from the prologue. One phase requires 8-10 hits with a basic attack. The boss does almost no damage; he only removed 200 HP out of 800 for the entire time.

This guide does not work on the latest version of the game. Only a complete walkthrough for each character.

Important point: after the update on November 10, 2020, to receive this trophy you must also complete the game as a gnome scout

As of January 18, 2021, you will also need to play through the Witch Hunter. (if you purchase Slayer Edition)
By rubberslover on 18 Jan 2021 23:52
There is no need to play as a hunter.
I can assume that if you buy DLC with a hunter, then you will need it
