How to unlock the Reikwald achievement in Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide - Definitive Guide
Each player can carry one tome and one grimoire. Most of the main missions have 3 tomes and 2 grimoires. I highly recommend to collect the tomes and grimoires with a at least 3 players because it is tricky that the bots pick up a tome and keep it until the end of the mission.
A Tome takes the slot for your healing item. Tomes can be dropped and picked up by other players. Tomes and grimoires increase the chance of a higher roll at Ranald's Bones. The more tomes and grimoires you carry to the end of a mission, the higher the chance of a higher litter.
For the tome achievements you have to carry all tomes in one run to the end of a mission to obtain the tome achievement for this mission.

A tip for playing with bots, they will only pick up a tome if they have no healing item already held. As soon as they come across a healing item, they'll drop the tome and pick up the portion or medical supplies.
Perversely, you're therefore kind of better to be playing with the team relatively close to death so they're more likely to need to immediately use any healing gear they come across. You can always linger and use hordes as a way of grinding down everyone's health.
Likewise, if you allow your health to drop they will use healing items on you, freeing up a spot for a tome.
Remember, the last scene has potions and supplies for everyone so they'll all drop their tomes to pick them up. Therefore you will definitely need them to drop health to be able to guide them back to the tomes and pick them up, or get to the final scene with them nearly all on low health so they use the potions immediately and can pick the times back up straight away. If you carry one tome then you'll need two heroes at any one time to carry the others.
You also only need your hero to get on the boat to be victorious, I think some of my bots were actually incapacitated and it still counted all the tomes - they were technically alive at the completion - and the achievement popped.
