How to unlock the The Pious achievement in Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide - Definitive Guide

I've made a video guide here:

Tome 1 - Right after the pig pens, you'll pass under a bridge and have the option to walk all the way down a long bridge. At the end are some bushes. Walk into them to find a secret area. Make a u-turn to the right as soon as you enter to find the first Tome.

Tome 2 - From that room, leave by going right, under an archway, and across the street through a metal fence. In the back left is a door to a chapel. On the altar inside the chapel is a chest. Inside is the second Tome.

Tome 3 - Once you go inside again after the huge open area, you'll have to climb over a broken door and then go up some stairs. In the next room, there will be another short set of stairs and a door to the right. The tome is in there behind a secret wall. To open the wall, take a left at the top of those stairs and open the chest by the next set of stairs. Then go up those stairs into the next area and under the stairs there to find another chest. Opening those two chests opens the secret wall.

It's hard to explain by text, so I recommend you watch the video!

If this is supposed to be done in one run, then how are we supposed to hold all the tomes? Because you can only hold one time at a time. Can you give them to your other players? Do you have to have human players with you, or are Bots good enough?

Bots can pick up tomes, though they're fickle and will drop them for health.

I'm 95% sure you don't need to do this in one run. You can do it across many. At least that worked for me on another level. But I did do them all in co-op.

Just tried to do this solo with multiple runs. Can confirm it does NOT work. It has to be in one run.

Even though this will unlock with bots, this achievement guide should state it requires at least 3 human players, as there is little no chance the bots will keep a tome until the end of a mission.

They keep them if they aren’t hurt too much.

I just completed this with bots, all 3 tomes at the end, no achievement. So either it's buggy or it requires other players carrying the tomes for it to count.

Edit: the achievement popped the next day on the character select screen. So seems like it was a little buggy.

Your bots need to pick up the tomes. They will do so if they don't get hurt too much.

Each player can carry one tome and one grimoire. Most of the main missions have 3 tomes and 2 grimoires. I highly recommend to collect the tomes and grimoires with a at least 3 players because it is tricky that the bots pick up a tome and keep it until the end of the mission.

A Tome takes the slot for your healing item. Tomes can be dropped and picked up by other players. Tomes and grimoires increase the chance of a higher roll at Ranald's Bones. The more tomes and grimoires you carry to the end of a mission, the higher the chance of a higher litter.

For the tome achievements you have to carry all tomes in one run to the end of a mission to obtain the tome achievement for this mission.

PS: I played and finished this game with a different gamertag -> "Achievement not yet won" display
