Not my guide, just one I found online. Shows the locations of the books - you pull 5 hidden books in a specific order to get a key, open a door, get the torch then light the brazier in the boss area. One thing to note, it appears the books do not highlight (have a white border) until you pull the previous one - so shouldn't have any concerns for pulling them out of order. Be sure not to drop down past the point of no return on some stone steps before you get the key.
Can be done on any difficulty.

This one starts in second grim area. If you dont know where it is, then look on screenshot: in front - dropdown to boss, path to grim on right side:
To get challenge, you need pull 5 hidden books on bookshelves in specific order, get key, open door, get torch and light brazier in boss area, while holding torch.
So, first book to pull - it is in grim room:
Second one - in same grim room, left from exit door:
Third one - after exit from grim room:
Fourth book is on second floor (on left of screen way to boss):
For fifth book go back, it is on right from stairway to second floor:
After picking last book, door right to it will open. Inside, pickup key:
Torch will be behind door (on left of screenshot):
Pick up torch and go to boss area. On left after drop will be brazier, light it up:

The only issue is the directions to the area where the books are. If one does not know where the Grimoires are it isn't helpful.
After releasing the prisoners the game will instruct you to "continue searching underground". Make your way through to the open area before you drop down. On your right facing the balcony looking down to said open area there will be a tentacle coming out of a door. Turn right and follow the path, drop down and this is the area with the grimoire and the first books.

It's worthy to note that the books starting point is pretty far into the level and start via the door immediately after rescuing the prisoners in the cage. All the books are in that general area and if you get to the drop down on the stairs where you see infinite ammo box and several med packs, do not drop down if you have not completed the book step.
