A Globadier will only initiate the suicide attack when either struck with a melee attack, or hit with a single bullet (I was using Kruber with a Repeater Handgun)
When you have hit the Globadier once, it will take a couple of seconds to change into the suicide attack, before charging you. Killing the Globadier before it explodes will unlock this achievement.
As this game is chaotic, it's likely the Globadier will be killed outright before it has a chance to do the suicide attack, so a little group co-ordination will make this a lot easier.
