How to unlock the Weave Dominator achievement in Warhammer: Vermintide 2 - Definitive Guide

EDIT: With the release of season 4, the achievement became *discontinued*.
Currently weave 64 is broken, so obviously you can’t beat 1-80. I assume that’s why the flag was changed. New dlc was announced for the PC to be released this month and Xbox usually gets it a few months later, so I don’t think they’re done supporting the game yet. Hopefully it’s fixed soon.
Thanks to blackhawks1009
QUICK SOLUTION:
In the last update of May, it is possible to progress with the advancement of the achievement by replaying the first ranked weave.

To complete the mission, it takes ~5 minutes with the loading times. 5minx80=400min=6hours40min.

As of the update on July 10th 2020, unfortunately it seems like it does no longer work.
Thanks to Fanta Morgana.
LEGIT SOLUTION
At the start of the new season, any weaves past 40 will be erased, shuffled, and you will be set back to 41.
For this reason there may be some reset in Achievement progress.

For more information on Weaves mode, you can visit this site.
For more news on Game, you can visit Official site.
To achieve this, you must complete the first 80 ranked weaves.
The rules of this new mode are simple:

• You have 15 minutes to reach your goal (top center screen). Your goal is the white symbol on the purple meter (top right of screen).
• You reach that goal by killing and/or doing the objectives.
• After reaching the goal, you gain +5 minutes to your timer, and a purple portal opens up somewhere. Reach it, nothing else matters.
• After going through the portal, all players will be revived. You will face the “boss” encounter. It is not always a boss, though.
• After killing everything, you win.

There are items hidden about the level. When Weaves get harder, you will probably start with exploratory runs to find out where everything is.
Unlike the other Game Modes, NOTHING IN THE RANKED WEAVE CHANGES.

There are 4 different non-killing objectives in the Weaves:
BLOW UP ESSENCE NODE: You'll find Spark Barrels within. Use them to destroy Essence nodes.
DESTROY ESSENCE NODE: Essence shards are plentiful here. Smash them.
SHATTER ESSENCE CHUNKS: You'll find machines within to help shatter chunks of Essence.
DRAIN ESSENCE FRACTURES: Stand in a circle for a set amount of time. The meter goes faster if more players are in the circle.

To make things more difficult, there are 8 modifiers that change every 5 Weave:

This is awesome! Another point of note is that there are no true "disablers" on this map. It's pretty consistent spawning of two blightstormers, they always spawn in the same general spots, so it *can* be done solo without too much trouble, just takes a bit longer. Two or three is a better but still completely feasible option.

Wow I can’t believe they fixed the glitch. I feel bad for anyone that has to do this legitimately. Good luck

I am surprised it took them this long. As these will get fixed, but not things actually broken in game.

@ultimania10. Currently Xbox is on season 4. I don’t believe there’s a date yet for when it ends.

Unfortunately it seems like it does no longer work as of the update on July 13th.
I've done a wave solo and I didn't get progress on the tracker.
Shouldn't have slacked with this. Don't know why no one wanted to do this though, as I had lots of sessions with no one joining for this.

It's rather difficult to write a detailed guide for each of the 80 weaves (and I'm not through them all myself), BUT, I find it rather important to give some general tips (and some updated information). Seeing how little information exists about this mode, I've tried to consolidate most of it into one place.

Prep

Before diving in, you will want to at least do the introduction to Weaves as soon as possible (complete the first ranked weave). This will allow you to earn Essence while you play pretty much any type of Vermintide 2 content. Essence is essential to upgrading your character abilities and weapons; you will want most of it unlocked before really diving in. Weaves should probably be the last thing you do in this game anyway, as the mode is the toughest thing you can do in the game.

Generally speaking, you want the "cauldron" fully upgraded, your weapons of choice fully upgraded, and your class abilities fully upgraded. If you can upgrade something with Essence, you should. Additionally, whatever bots you will use will also need to be fully upgraded. In short, you will need a whole lot of Essence.

What's new with Weaves (May 2024 Update)

A rather important update has come to the Weaves mode to make this achievement easier. This update contains 2 notable changes (straight from Fatshark's Patch Notes):

-Weaves no longer end on timeout.

-Bots are now useable in Ranked Weaves.

I have not been able to confirm if you still get achievement progress if the timer runs out, but I CAN confirm that the bots are now in Weaves, and completing a Weave with a bot present is fine. This is HUGE, as the bots are nice distractions for the enemies.

The Weaves don't seem to be changing anymore; there's no "Seasonal" rotation of them. Each Weave will be pretty much the same every time, including the spawns of the special enemies. Additionally, it seems that Weaves 41-80 are a repeat of Weaves 1-40, with more spawns to worry about.

Here is a Steam guide by "#", which lets you know about the major spawns of each weave:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=26298...

Difficulty

Here are the difficulties of the ranked Weaves, which cannot be lowered:

Weaves 1-10: Recruit
Weaves 11-20: Veteran
Weaves 21-30: Champion
Weaves 31-40: Legend
Weaves 41-60: Cataclysm
Weaves 61-80: Cataclysm 2

To my knowledge, there are only a few differences between Legend, Cataclysm, and Cataclysm 2. Enemies seem to get increased stagger resistance, and hordes will be a bit bigger with each jump. I'm not 100% sure on this; this is something I really can't find much info on.

Don't be fooled by the difficulty structure however; by the 20's, you will likely struggle a bit with every single Weave that you do. Getting through the Weaves is a slow, tedious, and difficult process that will require you to memorize every level.

General Strategies

In my experience, going slow is the key to success (with some notable exceptions). Again, the Weaves are the same every time when you run them. If you get a Rat Ogre when you hit a certain point in the level, you will ALWAYS get that Rat Ogre every time. If Medical Supplies spawn in a certain box, they will ALWAYS spawn there. Generally speaking, here's how a Weave completion goes:

You run the Weave 3 to 5 times, taking note of enemy spawn points, as well as the location of healing and potions (if you die and have to reset, that's fine, but learning the level is the goal). You take note of the objective you need to complete (kill enemies, capture points, destroy shards, etc.), and you find out which times you can do the objectives SAFELY. Rushing the objectives through the whole level will almost never work. Then, you progress to the second part of the Weave, and battle a few hordes in a small circle arena. 50% of the time, these are a joke, but 50% of the time, you will have tons of Gutter Runners, Blight Stormers, Life Leeches, Packmasters, and other annoying enemies. When you complete this part of the Weave, you are done.

Characters

Unsurprisingly, crowd control characters are always important, but sometimes, boss killers must be present too. As an example, Weave 30 has 5 different Monsters that spawn through the level, and our group of 3 needed a Bounty Hunter Saltzpyre and a Grail Knight Kruber to get through this one. In EVERY Weave, we had a Handmaiden Kerillian. She has high survivability, and sometimes she can afford to run to end of the level if the rest of the group doesn't think that they will be able to make it. Seeing as there are bots now too, 1 bot should always be the Ironbreaker Dwarf if no one else is playing him, as this class allows the bot to become reasonably tanky.

I'm not going to go over builds and weapons, but generally speaking, you should play the class you are most comfortable with. Weaves should be the last thing you are really doing in this game, so if you've got to this point, you probably know your character better than I do.

Modifiers

Every Weave will have one of 8 modifiers; some are worse than others. Here they are:

Amber: Rock totems will be scattered throughout the level; enemies near the totems are "empowered" (to my knowledge, they have quite a bit more health). You will need to lure enemies away from these totems and fight them, only destroying totems when it's safe to do so.

Amethyst: Small but annoying orbs will spawn from each enemy defeated. These will quickly turn most of your health into Temporary Health. Healing items won't do much in these levels, so knowing how to rely on Temporary Health is important.

Bright: All attacks inflict fire (both your attacks and the enemy attacks). Not too bad to deal with.

Celestial: Lightning bolts will occasionally spawn on top of you; these will hurt both you and the enemies around you if you stand still for too long. This is only bad if your team gets clustered together at a bad moment.

Gold: Armored enemies are tougher, but release a damaging explosion when killed. So far, I haven't really noticed this one when it's up.

Grey: Enemies are cloaked until you get close to them; cloaked enemies also become tankier. Unfortunately, ranged enemies (particularly the Ratling Gunner) can still shoot you, even if they are cloaked, so this modifier can become VERY annoying with the right set up of enemies. You will have to probably bait these enemies into small corridors, where you can deal with them easier.

Jade: Killing enemies spawns thorns, which damage you and slow you. These can be annoying if you have to kill a lot of enemies in a small area, but otherwise, this is a manageable modifier.

Light: You slowly lose max health, but standing next to light beacons slowly reverts this effect. Also, the lower your max health is, the quicker your attack speed is. This is a pretty terrible modifier, and you will also have to learn the locations of most of the light beacons in these levels.

The good (or bad) thing with these modifiers is that they are all predetermined for each level. Throughout the 80 Weave journey, each modifier will appear 10 times. The rotation is as follows:

Weave 1: Light
Weave 2: Celestial
Weave 3: Jade
Weave 4: Gold
Weave 5: Bright
Weave 6: Amber
Weave 7: Grey
Weave 8: Amethyst

Weave 9: The Pattern resets back to Light, and you go through the set again.

Outro

Even with this guide, you will still struggle with Weaves A LOT, even very early on in them. At the time of writing this, I am only through Weave 32, and every Weave is a solid hour or so of trying to get it right. This achievement is not for the faint of heart, and I strongly recommend doing just about every other achievement in the game first (but do at least Weave 1 so you can start earning Essence).

Good luck to everyone who attempts this, I'm sure we'll all be needing it.
