Points are earned from all sorts of things from kills, assists, objectives (Towers, gates, constructions, etc), heals, revives, etc.
You can easily get this if you focus on keeping the pressure on the enemy team. Other ways you can focus on this easily is to pick the cleric and equip the heal ability. Stay where your team often is and stay in the back spamming heals on your teammates (Also making progress towards the heal achievement) and have your ranged weapon out so that you can land potshots on opponents potentially gaining assists. Follow your team and complete objectives.
