How to unlock the In a Rush achievement in Warp - Definitive Guide

This achievement is a timed achievement for beating the story. You must beat the game in under 1 hour and 15 minutes in order to get this achievement. Save this for your 2nd, and play it right after your first (or at least within reasonable time frame). If you "save it for later" you'll end up having to relearn the game again. You will want to stack this with the "Cuddles" achievement for not killing any humans. Speed through to the main objectives and grab only the grub you have time for. If you spot a challenge, it's a good option to get some extra upgrades from the grub you can earn. Challenges do not count for your time limit, nor for your kills. Once you have enough, upgrade your speed first and then the silent walking. After that, ignore all grubs and challenges. Always look for shortcuts, as some of these will save you a ton! It's a great idea to have a backup save.

Here are some examples of times that you may wish to go for:

30 Minutes: Reaching Containment for the second time.

40 Minutes: Should save the floating guy imprisoned in the dome.

55 Minutes: If you make it to the sub by this time, you're in great shape.

1 Hour to 1:10: Inbetween here you should get to the boss and defeat him.

Tip: Remember to hold to skip cutscenes. When you die, dashboard. Every time you "retry" it seems to save your time. When you respawn at a checkpoint, the first thing it does is give you another checkpoint at that spot. So instead of selecting "continue", just dashboard. This will help in reducing your time severely depending on where you are in the game.

I wanted to add that it doesnt seem that being in the pause menu or the map count against you. I spent plenty of time in each while I watched some youtube videos to refresh my memory of the puzzles.

By dashboard, do you mean 'pausing and hitting Go To Main Menu, then Continue Game' dashboard, or "hit the guide and go all the way to the Xbox 360--oh damn it, I think I know which one it is and I'm just teasing myself" dashboard?

I can verify that HashDK's strategy of pressing start and exiting to the main menu does NOT reset the clock. Your time is saved when you quit, so dashboarding is the only guaranteed way to make sure that it does not save.

One failed attempt. Pain in the ass.

Decided to give this achievement another go after a year and several early fails. I do not know what counts and what doesn't count for pausing in menus, restarting to the main menu, dying and respawning, or dashboarding.

But I can tell you that I just completed a run in 1:23:53 which includes respawning about 30 times, checking the map once and one dashboard, so EA may have patched this one up to stop the clock and reset it on respawn.

I did my first speed run and can see my time on the leaderboard at 1:27. Is there a way to see your time in-game as you go? Or do you just have to wall-clock it? Thanks

Interestingly enough, the speedrun timer only counts up until you reach the final boss. Time spent fighting the boss and afterward is not added to the timer.

I streamed my speedrun on Twitch. It took me 1 hour and 25 minutes to reach the ending cutscene, but my in-game time was 1 hour and 13 minutes. I never paused, went to the menu, or dashboarded. I did it in one sitting and died 25 times (excluding the final boss). When I subtracted the time spent redoing areas after dying I had 1 hour and 4 minutes.

So yes, dying does count against you, but only until you reach the final boss. Then you can die as much as you want! 12 minutes and 5 deaths were at this boss for me, grr...

Instead of dashboarding, you can log out from your profile.
Put yourself in invisible mode, so everytime you'll log in, your friend won't see the notification you're online.

You can see how long your run is taking by selecting extra from the main menu.

The clock does not stop while checking the map. It does while the game is paused.

Can confirm what Profilia said. At the end I kept dying on the boss but I still got the achievement. The achievement will also pop as soon as you exit the cave!

I did watched the speedruns from speedrun.com. There are a few useful shortcuts that will help.

Turns out either pausing or quitting out still affect ur time during this run i had a time of 25 mins and made abk up save i got abit stuck in the same room and quit out and bk alot. after 10 mins of failing i checked stats and my time was now 35 mins eventhough i hadnt hit any checkpoints might be best to dashboard out and have a bk up save to save you missing out on ur time

Like with many of the speedrun achievements that exist in other games, I found that one of the best resources to use is speedrun.com. It was there that I found this speedrun by SeductiveSpatula that helped me with this achievement immensely.

He completed his run in under 18 minutes real time, so getting under 1:15:00 in-game time using the tricks present in his video should prove a cake walk. I'm no expert in the game, but by using the out of bounds tricks that he does in the video, paired with dashboarding any time that I made a major mistake, I was able to achieve a 34:24 run. The tricks he utilizes provide so much margin for error compared to a legit run of the game, and they are deceptively simple to pull off. I'll highlight the major skips with timestamps and provide a short explanation for each to help guide you along.

An important thing to note is that you should focus on acquiring 12 grubs as soon as possible to get fast movement, as it helps finish the run that much faster.

3:05 - First out of bounds trick. Important to this is to make sure you position the blue tank between the barrel and the cardboard box. Normally the game won't let you warp to an object that has a higher elevation than your own. However, if you warp from an object (in this case the aforementioned barrel) the game will allow you on top of said higher elevation. From here, warp to the cardboard box, use the stool as a ramp to climb up the desk and onto the large stack of boxes. Now comes the tricky part. Once at the position shown in the video, you have to run at an angle into the corner of the box. There will be a brief window where you will be allowed to warp on top of the wall. The timing is a bit tricky to nail down, so feel free to practice this one a bit and dashboard once you feel you have the hang of it.

4:55 - Next major out of bounds skip. After the crane has picked you up, your goal is to warp on to the black metal fence. This one is pretty easy. Be careful to give the checkpoint near the end of the fence a bit of a berth, as if you trigger it and mess up, you'll either have to complete the section normally (not recommended) or restart the run entirely. Once you reach the end of the fence, walk towards the screen and drop down slightly so that you are on top of the yellow railing. You will then be able to warp across the conveyer belt and continue on the path shown in the video.

7:15 - Another (in my opinion) easy out of bounds trick. Simply possess the guard while he is passing through the water barrier. Exploding him will push you upwards and allow you to get out of bounds.

9:23 - Boss fight time! Feel free to use the intended method of having the boss aggro on barrel echoes, as there's plenty of time to fight and beat him either way. I found the method in the video to be much more consistent than the other method however.

12:12 - Another out of bounds skip. first, swap places with the barrel so that it's not in the corner. Position yourself facing to the left and once again swap places with the barrel. If done correctly, it will now be floating. Quickly warp into the barrel and then warp onto the yellow rail. Now move downward and once again swap places with the barrel so that it is now on the yellow rail (it may teeter and fall down. If this happens, just dashboard and retry). Now warp back into the barrel and back onto the rail. Go as far up as you are able to and swap with the barrel again. It should now be balanced on top of the glass wall. Quickly warp into it and then onto the glass wall.

13:35 - this is the most important skip of the run. It will allow you to skip straight to the submarine. Position the barrel within swapping distance of the door. then face the corner of the door and swap with the barrel. If done correctly, the barrel will be floating. This may take a few tries, so keep at it. Once it is floating, simply warp into it and the warp to the opposite side of the door. Walking into the wall will push you up and you will be out of bounds.

Once getting on the sub, you should have plenty of time to complete it normally. But this is a speedrun after all, so let's just skip the sub section as well.

14:54 - Personally, I could never get this trick to work as he does it, so I'll explain how I did it. I disabled the water shields as intended and did not skip the trigger for the boat beginning to rock. This makes the method he uses in the video almost impossible. But there is still a way to get two of the generators stacked. Simply keep swapping places with the generators that spawn in (as he does in the video) until you have about 4 or 5 knocking around. You may notice that if you get pinned between one and the railing that it will force you on top of the generator. If press cn_X to enter the swap mode before you are forced up, you will be able to swap with another generator and stack them. You won't have a very big window to act once they are stacked, as the ship will sway and unstack them, so quickly warp into the stacked generator and onto the yellow rail. Then just walk up and it should slide you upward and out of bounds.

And that's pretty much it! Anything I can improve let me know in the comments and I'll add it in. Good luck!

This is the hardest offline trophy by far. To get this, you have to start a new game, and complete it in under an hour and 15 minutes. Some tips for this playthough:

- Know every area before you go through, you will want to do this on a second or third playthrough.
- Try not to kill many enemies, destroying things takes time.
- Don’t collect any grubs off the main path, do not bother destroying any film canisters.
- Get power ups in the following order:
o Fast movement
o Silent movement
o Silent warp
o Fast warp
- When you die, it auto saves, adding onto your time. More than a few deaths will probably mean you have missed this trophy.
- Unconfirmed whether pausing or cutscenes add to the time, so try to do it all in one playthrough, without pausing, and skip all the cutscenes by holding the button.

Video guide (en) with speedrun in 20 minutes.
There are 3 places in the video with glitches that will help shorten the passage of the plot. I couldn’t do the first one, the other two can be done after a little practice.
Also important. If you get stuck in some place, then go straight to the dashboard, and not through the game menu. So that the game does not save. Time does not count towards challenges or final boss battles.
