How to unlock the A Collector's Tail achievement in WARRIORS OROCHI 3 Ultimate - Definitive Guide

This achievement can only be obtained after getting the Divine Mirror (which is obtained in Chapter 8).

Each tail is acquired by defeating specific officers on the Mirror Realm version of stages in Chapter 5, 6, and 8. Press the Y button on the stage select screen to switch between Normal and Mirror Realm versions, just like you would to get to a Redux mission.

Chapter 5 - Struggle at Nanjun (Mirror Realm) - NOBUNAGA ODA must be defeated and shows up with DA JI after CAO PI is defeated. This one is unmissable since he must be defeated to achieve the victory condition.

Chapter 6 - Defense of Tetorigawa (Mirror Realm) - NAGAMASA AZAI must be defeated and shows up at the very end of the mission in the enemy's main camp. This one is also unmissable.

Chapter 6 - Rescue at Nan Province (Mirror Realm) - ZHANG JIAO must be defeated at the very end of the mission. IMPORTANT: YOU MUST NOT DEFEAT MUSASHI MIYAMOTO when he shows up again at the END of the mission (He will join you after finding out about ZHANG JIAO). However, you should defeat MUSASHI MIYAMOTO at the START of the mission. This one is MISSABLE if MUSASHI MIYAMOTO is defeated before ZHANG JIAO when they both show up at the end.

Chapter 6 - Investigation at Mt. Niutou (Mirror Realm) - PANG TONG must be defeated at the end. This one is unmissable.

Chapter 6 - Intrigue at Xuchang (Mirror Realm) - This one has TWO TAILS in it. SIMA ZHAO and YAN LIANG must be defeated. SIMA ZHAO is very close to where you start this mission and should be taken out right away. YAN LIANG is easily missable and starts in the western garrison with GOEMON ISHIKAWA. Simply head over to the western garrison after defeating SIMA ZHAO and take him out for the second tail. This mission has one missable tail (YAN LIANG). SIMA ZHAO is unmissable.

Chapter 6 - Insurrection at Jiange (Mirror Realm) - BAO SANNIANG must be defeated at the very end of this mission. This one is unmissable.

Chapter 8 - The Battle against Tamamo (Mirror Realm) - LU BU and NEZHA must be defeated towards the end of the mission. These two are unmissable.

is there anyway to know what one you have missed because I just finished the last level needed and the achievement has not popped I have done all requirments for the ones that are missable the level that glitched on me is chapter 8 they only gived me 1 orb it even said in the dialogue that I have revelled lu bu and nezha to be foxes

There is a level with two tails and one of them is very missable.

Thanks for the guide but after just doing this myself I believe there is a secondary requirement of either collecting so many orbs and/or collecting every single type of orb I believe this to be the case as for me it unlocked through gauntlet mode when I picked up an orb mid-battle

[Story Mode]

[Glitched] This trophy might not unlock after defeating all 9 tails, if this happens to you the best solution is to simply keep playing the Mirror Realm stages and defeating the tails. Play Struggle at Nanjun - Mirror Realm as it's the shortest one.


The next time you return to Story Mode after you've completed the main story(Chapter 8) you'll engage in a conversation with Cao Pi, Guo Jia, Kaguya and Kiyomasa Kato. You'll learn that Kyubi's tails/clones still linger and are tasked eliminate them.

When you press to switch between Normal/Redux stages you'll notice seven stages within Chapters 5, 6 and 8 with a small tail icon on them, these are Mirror Realm stages, they contain Kyubi's tails/clones that must be defeated.

You will receive a notice after completing the stage that you have successfully defeated the tail.

Chapter 5:
• Struggle at Nanjun - Nobunaga Oda

Chapter 6:
• Defense of Tetorigawa - Mirror Realm - Nagamasa Azai
• Rescue at Yan Province - Mirror Realm - Zhang Jiao
• Investigation at Mt. Niutou - Mirror Realm - Pang Tong
• Intrigue in Xuchang - Mirror Realm - Sima Zhao, Yan Liang
• Insurrection at Jiange - Mirror Realm - Bao Sanniang

Chapter 8:
• The Battle against Tamamo - Mirror Realm - Lu Bu, Nezha

After clearing Story Mode, the Mirror stages become available. The nine tails can be found here:

  1. Chapter 5, Struggle at Nanjun (Mirror Realm) - Unmissable, Nobunaga Oda is the tail.
  2. Chapter 6, Defense of Tetorigawa (Mirror Realm) - Unmissable, Nagamasa Azai is the tail.
  3. Chapter 6, Rescue at Nan Province (Mirror Realm) - After defeating Miyamoto Musashi, at the end of the mission, Zhang Jiao and Miyamoto Musashi will reappear. You have to defeat Zhang Jiao and leave Miyamoto Musashi alone when this happens. 
  4. Chapter 6, Investigation at Mt. Niutou (Mirror Realm) - Unmissable. Pang Tong is the tail.
  5. Chapter 6, Intrigue at Xuchang (Mirror Realm) - You have to defeat Sima Zhao and Yan Liang. Sima Zhao is unmissable, track down Yan Liang from the Army Info. Both are tails.
  6. Chapter 6, Insurrection at Jiange (Mirror Realm) - Unmissable. Bao Sanniang is the tail.
  7. Chapter 8, The Battle against Tamamo (Mirror Realm) - Unmissable. Both Lu Bu and Nezha are tails
