How to unlock the Another World achievement in WARRIORS OROCHI 3 Ultimate - Definitive Guide

To get this, you need to beat one playthrough of Gauntlet Mode.

The first time you play Gauntlet Mode, you will only be able to access Red Keystone levels, which will make it a lot quicker and easier than later playthroughs of the mode. Gauntlet Mode levels are a bit different from the other modes. For the most part, each level does not have a set of goals/objectives other than to just find the exit. The only exception would be the "boss" levels of each "floor" on the level selection map. These levels require you to find and kill the boss(es) of the level and then make it to the exit.

There are 4 "floors" on the level select screen, each with a boss level before you can proceed to the next. The boss levels have a hexagon shape (instead of square) on the level select screen. A quick way to determine which level is going to be the boss level (in case there is a fork in the level select path and you just want to go through it quickly instead of playing each level): Select a level that you want to check, and go to the last battlefield description for that level. If there are no ?????'s in the officer listings then that is the boss level for that "floor".

Some tips for making it through Gauntlet Mode quickly and easily:

-You unlock characters by killing them in level and then collecting their "Sworn Ally" drop item. So spend some time early on unlocking as many characters as you can. Besides more choices of play, characters unlock formations as well.

-USE YOUR FORMATIONS!!! This makes it a million times easier. The formation power "Demon Eyes" shows you where the exit is, "Secretive" makes you essentially invisible to the enemy, and "20/20" increases your field of vision to make it easier to uncover the fog on the map. Additionally, formations raise/lower stats for your party. So try to find a formation or 2 that you are comfortable playing and can help you find the exit.

-Don't attack everyone you see. Unlike story mode where you can hack away to your heart's content, aimlessly killing will just make Gauntlet Mode levels harder. So only fight if you need to, or if you're trying to kill an officer to get their items.

-Try to be quick; staying in a level will also make it more difficult as time goes on.

-Use formations that spread your characters out. After a certain amount of time, a character will be revived again, so if all of your team is bunched up they could potentially be wiped out by one enemy musou attack. The blue formations will have everyone run around on their own, while the green formations call them all back toward you.

-You can use musou/special attacks while holding "LB" on dragon portals. For example, Xu Shu's ground RB move calls arrows down from the sky and stuns enemy's around you. Start capturing a dragon portal/exit and then immediately press RB while still holding LB and you can't be interrupted generally.

-Purple dragon portals always reward a scroll that causes every enemy to drop experience, so try to capture them when surrounded by enemies. If you do capture one and there are no enemies around, you can switch characters without losing it's effect.

I would recommend playing through a bit of story prior to starting Gauntlet Mode, just to level up a few characters a bit, get better equipment, and learn more about the combat.

Xu Shu makes Gauntlet Mode a joke, he breaks the game. The weapon doesn't matter, but obviously the stronger it is the better. If you can get your hands on an Alacrity orb you're all set. The description says it gives you the boots, but it's wrong, What it actually does is fully restores your life and Musou. So what you do is you spam his RB attack on big groups, and every 500 hits it'll just restore your Musou and health. I personally have Alacrity, Wrath, Aggression, Procurement, Frenzy, Courage, Slay, and Tri-Element on my weapon. Alacrity is all you really need to make this work though. I can do massive damage with it even on max miasma level, and even if they don't die fast once they get hit by it they're stuck in it and can't do anything so you win regardless of your DPS.

I don’t recommend sitting and fighting until you’re blue in the face, since you won’t be able to complete all the levels on the first playthrough (you don’t have the necessary crystals), just look for the required Dragon Portal and run from the level. As an option, take Solstice Formation to help, using Getaway, so you will complete the level as quickly as possible.
