How to unlock the Survivalist achievement in WARRIORS OROCHI 3 Ultimate - Definitive Guide

If you're having trouble with this achievement I recommend beating the gauntlet mode first to unlock Hundun and get his card, which will make this achievement childishly easy.

The setup that you want to use is this, the characters you pick do not really matter but the better picks would be Ding Feng (for his grapple attacks and default charge attack spam), Huang Zhong (for good ranged attacks and aerial escape) and Shennong (for the resurrection skill and powerful heal from his special).
The cards you want to use are:
Strategist's Dealings (Motonari Mori's rare card found under "special")
Red Beans (Oichi's normal card found under "support")
Power Without Limits (Hundun's normal card found under "attack")
Fiendish Rose (Rachel's normal card found under "impede")

This whole strategy revolves around Hundun's card which costs only 2BP and creates an orb that fires projectiles that do ungodly amounts of damage and stack multiple times and on top of that can hit the enemy at any point, even when they're down on the ground or in the middle of being grappled. We also have Motonari Mori's card which costs 0BP and gives you 3BP right off the bat. Then there's Oichi's card that also costs 0BP and gives you 2BP, as well as Rachel's card which costs 3BP to use and disables your opponent's movement keeping them away from you and making it easier for them to be hit by Hundun's card.

Now, what you want to do is, soon as the battle starts, pop Strategist's Dealings and Red Beans then activate Power Without Limits and Fiendish Rose. All you need to do now is get some distance from your opponent, stand there, and block while watching them get nailed by Hundun's card while their movement is disabled. The damage your opponents will be taking from Hundun's card will give you plenty of BP to keep stacking it up over and over and use Rachel's card whenever it becomes available again.
If your opponent gets to close for comfort while able to move, you can do a few things to keep yourself relatively safe. You can just continue to stand there and block while parrying every chance you get, spam Ding Feng's base charge attack (Just keep hitting the Y button), run around and use his sprint attack, or use Huang Zhong’s EX attack (XXXX YY). I’d stick with with the block/parry thing, but whatever you chose to do you should be okay.

With this particular setup I can easily get up to 210 wins in survival (though past that point it's completely worthless since your opponents have infinite guard-parry) but you should have no problem getting 50 wins needed for the achievement. Good luck.

I didn't have Motonari Mori's "Strategist's Dealings" unlocked so I used a random card. However on the first try with your strategy I made it to level 88. It's kind of ridiculous how you literally don't have to do anything once you use Hundun's ability but this worked perfectly!

Yes, this setup really makes survival a joke. Too bad it doesn't do anything past 210. In any case, I'm glad it worked out for you.

I've gotten 54 wins and this achievement is showing 0% progress no matter what I do... I see that people are still winning it as recently as today... Does this mean I need to erase my saved data and try again?

If going for this - it's very glitchy. And the game only seems to check in on the achievement if you set an all-time record. Make sure you go to exactly 50 wins, die, then try 51, die, then 52, etc. If you jump straight to 210+ and it fails then you need to get to 211 for another attempt.

Confirmed the above is accurate - in the JP stack, I did my first survival run to 210, no achievement. Maybe 10-15 runs that went over 50, no achievement. One run that got to 215, achievement popped when it asked me if I wanted to upload my score.

As a follow-up, I finally unlocked this with 66 wins... It was very glitchy and I was afraid it would be unobtainable, but what I did differently this time was entirely QUIT out from the game in the dashboard and then restart it from scratch and that seemed to do the trick. It popped in the results screen. Now I'm just hoping I'm not screwed on Card Collector as well...

This one can be a bit tricky depending on the set up you make. First off however to access this click Duel mode and then go into Survival mode. Your tasked with K.O'ing as many officers as you can. You'll be faced up to 3 enemies at a time or more so one team at a time. It'll be 1v1 through out the whole thing but you can switch to other allies whenever(like story mode and ect.)

They easier way I did it was to have one character that was good at close range, one at distant range and the third one isn't needed. If anything I would go with another distant attack character. Personally for me I went with Sima Zhao, Lianshi, and Ding Feng. Lianshi for the most part will be your go to character. You'll also be granted to use Strategy cards that you've earned up to that point.

My Strategy Card set up was this:
Healing Harmony
Moon Viewer
Fiendish Rose
Fighting Spirit

Moon Viewer and Healing Harmony are the two key cards that'll get you through the 50 officers without much difficultly. Stay back and do combo moves with Lianshi and they should hardly have the chance to attack you. With moon viewer it will heal and replenish your musou gauge. That comes in handy during pinch moments and when the enemy has tough defense. Other than that it's just based on luck with what officers you must fight. I got paired with a few that mauled me regardless of my tactics. Other than that happy hunting and hopefully you can earn this. :)

Note* Once you eliminated 30 officers the map will change. Your streak will still be there so don't worry. I just changes every 30 along with the more officers you defeat the tougher they become.

If you have any questions let me know and I'll help you guys out.

I was just using the moon one when ever I could. Seem to work fantastic for me. Good info. I might add some of it to the solution credited by you. Is that okay?

Huang Zhong is absolutely the way to go for a back up character, I used him to ring out almost ever officer after 30. Just stay mid bridge area, be careful not to get thrown off, and you can ring out all three per round pretty quickly.

Just an fyi to everyone just starting up (like myself), all of these characters besides Sima Zhao are NOT unlocked for you at the start. The cards either.....so it would be helpful to know how to obtain cards or characters!

Thank you so much! I was at controller smashing stage with this one, but thankfully this one got me through.

I'd just like to expand on your guide a little...

Lianshi is unlocked by completing Chapter 1: Battle of the Nagashino Redux. The requirement for the alternate is unlocked after beating the chapter, so you can get her fairly early on.

A good backup character is Huang Zhong, who is unlocked even earlier on the stage Battle of Yiling Redux, his range is as good as Lianshi's.

Another good card to use is Joan of Arc's one that heals non-active team members.

The magic combo is X, X, X, X, Y for both of those. With Huang, he shoots his feet first which is a good unblockable starter if anyone gets close. Huang's Musou attack however is absolutely useless. It knocks the opponent in the air where they promptly block everything after that. Lianshi's magic combo is exceptional at knocking the opponent out of the stage.

One thing I couldn't work out was the Moon Viewer card. Every time I used it, the opponent would never get hit - yet on one stage where I was unlucky enough for them to have it, they not only hit me with every shot, but it would keep hitting me in the air, kept them constantly at max health and nothing I could do would take away their health fast enough to recover. Wish I knew how to pull off that kind of move.

Not looking forward to getting 108 wins for the final strategy card..............

Duel Mode is a vs game mode where you select a team and face of against another using the same mechanics as the main game. Strategy Cards is a feature exclusive to this mode, these cards each provide different abilities and effects to aid you in the fight. Note: You are not the only one with Strategy Cards, your A.I opponent uses them as well.

Survival Mode however is a mode within Duel Mode that pits you against A.I opponent after opponent to see how many victories you can achieve. There are 294 Strategy Cards and 145 characters so there is quite a lot of experimentation to be done to find out which combination of Strategy Cards/Characters can get you the most success.

[Important] You'll have to set your sights on scoring 89+ wins to unlock the final four Strategy Cards (see Card Collector).

[Notes]
• Each individually defeated character counts as one win.
• Its recommended that you acquire all Gold Cards unlocked from Methods 2, 3 and 4 so that you have the maximum amount of cards possible at this time at your disposal.

For a surefire way to score high you can check out this short video I made:

Although the trophy only requires 50 wins, to get all the cards in survival mode you need to win about 90 wins. It's easiest to play as Lu Bu (C3), Orochi X (C1, C3 and C4) and Himiko (C1) and take the regular Hundun'a card and the gold Susanoo' card (the other two are optional). At the same time, it’s good to farm experience.

A simple way to complete this mode.
Requires 4 cards:
Rare Motonari Mori card
Regular Oichi card
Regular Rachel card
Regular Hundun card

The entire strategy involves avoiding combat and is played around the Hundun card. Motonari and Oichi cards cost 0 BP and give 3 and 2 BP respectively, which in total cover the required amount to use the other two cards.
At the beginning of the battle, you need to immediately activate the Motonari and Oichi cards, which give 5 BP, then connect the Rachel cards to temporarily lock the enemy in place, and Hundun, which summons a sphere that attacks the enemy and deals decent damage. You need to keep your distance and constantly reactivate cards. Damage passed from the sphere to the enemy will also replenish BP. This way you can easily win 50 or more victories.
