Due to laziness I'm gonna put the details for the cooking recipes here too. I tackled this wrong at first. The tutorial makes you send a thief out in the beginning but all they steal is gold. What you have to do is send Cooks for cooking recipes and Brewers for brewing recipes, the higher their occupation level (I.e. Master Cook or Master Brewer) the better the odds that they'll get the recipie.
Each of the opponent taverns have one brewing and one cooking recipe, you'll know you have then when little food or a little beer appears next to their name. Once you have them all the achievements will pop.
You can hire loads of brewers and cooks all the time from the tavern itself which is what I did, I took all my masters off their duties and replaced them with newbies for a couple of shifts to get this done.
