Contracts can be obtained by visiting a tavern in a town. There will be a character with a green highlight in there. Talk to that character and they ill offer you a few possible contracts that you may accept. After you accept at least one of them, the contract location marker will be placed in your map giving you a clue to where you can complete said contract. Chances are your first contract will be to defeat some bandit, so just head over to the location marked on the map and engage the bandit that has the marker over their head once you are in the contract area. Once you have defeated them, the achievement will unlock.
