How to unlock the A run for your money achievement in Wartales - Definitive Guide
Hey all,
This achievement takes some time and a handful of resources, I'd personally recommend to go for it when you are lv 5-6, but hey you do you.
Requirements: lv 4 and then lv 8 on the Trade and Craftmanship tree (the yellow one), around 3k gold and 1k Influence. You don't need to have it all at once, but that's the total amount you need in the end.
Explanation:
- Hit lv 4 on the T&C, create a trading post in Stromkapp (Tiltren) for 500 gold.
- Create a second trading post in either Cortia (Arthes) or in Marheim (Vertruse) for 1k.
- When you Hit lv 8 on the T&C, you'll receive a quest from the Peddlers guild. Go in any of the trade post you want to establish a trade route with (I went for Cortia-Stromkapp) and talk to the new npc.
- Decide which route you want, pay 1,5k gold and 1k Influence.
As soon as you pay him the achievement will unlock!
The trade route will upgrade the main road between the cities you choose, giving you a massive +20% movement speed on it, plus other bonuses as well.
Tips
To hit lv 8 on the T&C tree could take a while if you are not farming those points. What I'd suggest to do, it is to farm the Professional Trader one, which nets 5 points every time.
To earn it, you need to sell 10 wares (the boxes you can find at the market square in the main cities, each city has different one, such as spices, silver, scrolls etc) at +50% of their original price.

that explains which goods you need to buy and where to sell it.
Basically you want to buy the good highlighted in yellow and then sell them where they are highlighted in green.
As an example, if you buy crates of amber in Stormkapp, you need to sell them in Cortia to hit the +50%. In Cortia, you can buy pelts to sell them in Marheim.
If you have unlocked the right perks (movement speed on roads, less fatigue while running etc), it takes around 5 min to go from Cortia to Marheim (long trip, you need to rest once), around 2-3 mins to Stormkapp (no rest needed).
Just keep going back and forth while buying and selling in the proper places until you hit lv 8 in the T&C tree. Moreover, you will earn quite a lot of money while doing so: a short trip is worth around 1k gold, a long one around 2-3k.
Happy hunting!

The numbers aren't even important, it's the type of objects that matters.

No it's all about prices of course! Following the table you're pointing out I was not getting the 50% profit minimum to work on the Professional Merchants challenge.
