This will come naturally. I obtained level 5 with my main character, the spearman, about 3/4 of the way through the story.
This achievement did bug out and it was only when I had my 3rd character obtained level 5 did the achievement unlock.
You can tell a characters level when you select it, there will be a number in a circle at the top right of the character sheet.
