How to unlock the Book Learnin' achievement in Wasteland 3 - Definitive Guide
These are the missable lore books:
- demand justice for the Dorsey captive during your first encounter with The Patriarch (requires Leadership 2) in order to receive Dorsey Prisoner's Note from Magistrate Silas Watkins when you visit downtown Colorado Springs (near the pillories);
- carefully search the pile of corpses in the Ranger HQ Med Bay for the single corpse with Slaver's Note when you first arrive at Peterson Air Force Base;
- choose to save the Hoon Homestead during the Heads or Tails mission in order to get Survivalist's Diary from the bunker behind the house;
- hold on to all of the Golden Toaster parts in order to get The Distinguished Annals of Toaster Repair, Vol. XIV book from the Toaster Repair Academy (appears only once you have all 5 parts).
Additionally, when talking to Miriam Knox at the Church of the Final Deluge (in Broadmoor Heights), you will have the option to give her the Old Journal lore book for a reward and reputation. Giving her the lore book will not affect the achievement.
All required lore books, roughly in order that you will find them:
Peterson Air Force Base
Colorado Springs
Hoon Homestead
The Bizarre
Old Survivalist Bunker
Monster Army Bunker
Denver Ruins
Clown Museum
Aspen
Department of Energy Site
Toaster Repair Academy

So I'm writing this guide to get a discussion started.
This achievement seems to be impossible to unlock currently due to content that may have been removed from the game in the release. I have found a link that shows a majority of the locations for the lore books and which ones are required for the achievement. Not sure if this is accurate since no one has unlocked or if it may just be a rare book that no one has found. On the required list there is one book that they don't know the location of. This is what interests me. If this is the only book they don't know about then we just need to find that book or prove it was removed from the game currently. Please help if possible. Here's the link. Thanks.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well. I would've never thought there would be a missable one in the very first conversation with the Patriarch either, especially since you get it from an NPC that you don't even need to talk to.

In game version 1.08 and earlier, the trophy cannot be obtained. Since the necessary records are not where they should be.

When starting the game, BE SURE to take leadership 2 of one of the starting rangers, since when talking with the Patriarch you will have the opportunity to put Dorsey on trial, if you don’t do this, the judge in the Colorado Center will not give you one of the first textbooks, which means start new game!!! It’s also easy to miss the Slave Trader’s Note , it will be in a pile of corpses in the medical bay, but taking it is not so easy, you have to manually aim at the pile and it’s as if there will be a separate corpse under it, a note in it!!!

When you first visit the ranger base, in the command post, in the table you will find - “Old Diary”. So, later, in the Broadmoor Heights location, in the church you will meet Miriam Knox. When talking to her, a dialog box will give you the option to give this diary. Don't give it away! For this trophy it must be in your inventory. If everything was collected correctly, then the last trophy book should be “The Epochal Annals of Toaster Repair” at the Toaster Repair Academy.
