Be sure to have a Sonic Key - you'll need at least one to open the door to the room that Max can be reassembled in. You can get a Sonic key from various fights in Las Vegas - or dig one up on the north portion of the golf course with a shovel.
Also, bring a couple of ropes and a shovel.
As you kill mobs in the sewers you will loot various android parts. When you get to the final room you'll have to reassemble them correctly across four terminals along the right side of the room. I started with the lowest, or Terminal 4.
Parts required:
Terminal 1 - Android Head, ROM Board
Terminal 2 - Fusion Cell, Power Converter, Servo Motor, ROM Board
Terminal 3 - Servo Motor
Terminal 4 - Servo Motor, Servo Motor
Note 1: One of the ROM Boards only appear when you entirely empty out a loot bag in the first part of the sewers. It's an ambush shortly after you use the rope to traverse the sewage.
Note 2: The Android Head can be tricky. On the second to last screen there will be sewage in the East and West that cannot be traversed. This leaves you in the South, but the North totally inaccessible. If you look carefully at the wall between the sewage you'll see that you can dig a tunnel through a weakened part. The Android Head is up here. I used Strength checks to dig the tunnel, but I think you can use a Shovel too.
The, Pants, Party
This is a somewhat annoying process, partly because the enemies in the sewer are very tough and partly because the game is finicky in recognizing when you place the parts in the correct order. When you are in the sewers, you will want to kill everyone and loot everything! You will need multiple different electronic items and the android head. Follow the walkthrough I linked in the Road Map for specific locations. Once you come to the end of the sewer area, you can assemble Max by inspecting each of the four tables in the lab and running diagnostics, which will indicate what is broken. Use the items from your inventory in the following order on each of the tables from top to bottom (and you may have to run diagnostics in between each placement for the game to recognize it properly):
- Android head, Rom board
- Fusion cell, Power converter, Servo motor, Rom board
- Servo motor
- Servo motor, Servo motor
Prep each of the tables for assembly, then interact with the top table where the head is to bring Max to life and get your achievement, as well as the location of the next story location.
