How to unlock the Our Prudent Friend achievement in We Happy Few - Definitive Guide

The easiest way to do this achievement is to find a phone box which is near an abandoned house, or a house that is easily accessible and has a bed to sleep on.

In the clip below I am on the Main Street in Lud’s Holm with a house around the corner from the phone box I am using. Phone boxes are available in any of the ‘garden’ districts: Barrow Holm, Lud’s Holm and Eel Pie Holm.

**Bear in mind that maps are procedurally generated meaning that no 2 are the same**, so you may have to look around to find a similar setup. Lud’s Holm seems to be the best place for this though. The video will give you more of an idea of what to look for.

What you will need to do is sleep for 24 hours, then go back to the phone box and it should ring, giving you a cryptic message. Once you hang up, run back to the house, sleep for another 24 hours and then return to the same phone box for another message.

There are a combined 12 messages from ‘Our Prudent Friend’ and ‘Mr. Kite’ meaning you should get this all within 12 in-game days. As long as you are at a good enough distance from the phone box, it should ring after every sleep.

If you find that it does not ring each time, try finding another phone box which is slightly further away and you should get it.

Video below is of me doing 2 runs to the phone box to show the rough distance and area that I did it in.

This is definitely the best way to do it. For what it's worth, as the achievements can be buggy and delayed (mine didn't pop until about 15 minutes after the last phonecall), and I can't see them listed in any guide or in the menu with the other collectibles

The final phone call is Prudence saying "The rabbit went through the looking glass", at which point Arthur will say a goodbye.

Worked for me, there were only 2 or 3 occasions the phone didn't ring so I just slept again.

I have a full 100% Walkthrough of this game on my YouTube channel. Here is Part 1 where I cover a really easy method to get this early in the game:

(Technically Missable, Possibly Glitchy)

In most Holms there will be a ringing phonebox each day. When you wander past a box that's ringing, pick it up, listen to the message, and then move on with your story. After all 12 messages have been listened to, the achievement will unlock.

In order to unlock it right away, after exiting the Barrow Holm safe house, there is a nearby phone ringing. Pick it up, listen to the message, and return to the safehouse. Sleep in the bed for 24 hours (press left once in the sleep menu) and return to the phonebooth to hear the next message.

There are reports of this achievement glitching, and not all messages being available and the phone stops ringing daily prematurely. If this occurs, go back to the story and play through the game. Just come back and make sure the achievement is taken care of before passing a Point of No Return.

You need to listen to 12 calls from a phone booth. As you leave the first shelter, there is a telephone booth nearby, pick up the phone and listen. We go to the shelter, sleep for 24 hours, and again go to this booth, listen... sleep again and so on, sometimes after sleeping, the booth doesn’t call, which means we need to sleep some more...
