How to unlock the We Also Love The Camper Man achievement in We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie - Definitive Guide
The "Camper Man" fan stage has to be done 3 times to make his dream come true and unlock this achievement. Each stage has an increasingly larger campfire to be rolled up to complete it. The biggest difficulty is not failing the stage by either going into the water or by letting the fire in your katamari go out by not continually rolling up items.

What are the expected sizes for the different runs in this level? I reached 2m50 for the medium one and it wasn't enough.

My size for small was 1m 67cm 8mm, and medium was 3m 11cm 9mm. I can't get enough for the large one though so I have no idea how much is needed for it.

Camper Man appeared around Chapter 5 for me. This is no doubt the worst set of levels in the game.
To complete this, he has 3 tasks:
Light the Fire (Small) - You have to roll a flaming Katamari around a campsite to 1 meter and 50cm’s to be able to set the campfire alight up top. You have a timer of 6 minutes to complete this task.
Light the Fire (Middle) - You have to roll this fire ball to 3 meters and set the campfire alight up top within 6 minutes.
I found this route to be quite helpful and managed to do this with about 20 seconds spare.
Light the Fire (Big) - Final time rolling this one and we need to get to 7 meters and 50 cm’s within 6 minutes. (Possibly 7 meters is required, I accidentally finished this one)
This was the one that made my thumbs end up bleeding from the awful physics and accidental crashes.
I followed this video:
I tried my best to follow this route up until about 3:45 however I’d never be the same size as the video. As far as timing goes. As long as you are able to drop down around the size of 80cm’s at the 30’s mark (or at least before the group of runners). There’s some error to doddle about.
- Dashing is your only hope in keeping your flame.
- Pressing both sticks in to do a 180° turn is always quicker than trying to turn around.
- When you fail, in case you didn’t know like me. Once you’ve been obliterated. Press up or down. You can restart the level as I thought the “Have Another Go” took you back to the character screen. The colour scheme was awful and I could tell what was meant to be highlighted so I wasted more time having to reselect the level…
Most routes you have to pass a number of times so you can always collect a forgotten item or two on the next swoop.
In order of what I hope will be helpful.
- If you miss the Jerry cans/gas can’s on your first swoop, pick that route to collect them when returning up the hill.
- In the tent area, 0:46. I’d burn the boy the trash can, do a 180° and burn one of the men behind it. (I wouldn’t pick up the shovels as a safety net incase I needed it later on another pass).
- From 0:58. I would follow the exact path, collecting the fruit, boxes and trash, the two crates next to the tent, the only difference being that I’d burn the lady and avoid the fruits at the bears stand. They were another safety net if I needed it later.
- 1:46. These wood panels when following along with the guide. I couldn’t fit under there, it was impossible. I was too big. So I had to find a balance of being close enough to the videos size but small enough to fit under. The dash move was the only time I was able to glitch under it to collect the extra loot.
- First waterfall 2:15. Being under 2m 75 felt crucial. This is where if I was over 2m 80 going in. The panels would usually throw me into the waterfall and I couldn’t control the Katamari. The shrubs/bushes seen along the route 2:04 are what I used to get myself back up near the videos size before collecting the mushrooms and entering the waterfall section.
- Mushroom section at 2:35 can only be entered from the second tree. The first one won’t let you pass and you’ll no doubt burn out trying to correct yourself. The bears fruit stand is where you can use that safety net if you’re near burning out here.
- 2:50, the reeds will also be what will make you fail if you get greedy. Getting some is better than none and having to restart that damn level again is your gamble. This path has to be followed but again, need to be the right size to be growing from the reeds but not big enough that you’re pushing yourself into the water. I never went as far in collecting the reeds on the right but I did collect the majority of reeds on the left.
- By 4:00. I felt I was struggling by this point, I had a little over a minute left and I’d used the shovels as my second safety net getting over there. From there. I ignored the rest of the video as it seemed completely BS with how long the videos flame last. I’d either be bursting over to the first tent segment to hoover up what else I could, roll up the hill to the fire to hoover up some fences whilst making my way over to the camper van section from 4:42 onwards.
