How to unlock the Gold Digger achievement in Weird West: Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide

A quick and easy way to get this achievement is to set up camp in a forest region (I camped in Millswood) and look for the pond that spawns near the camp you just set up. Near that pond, there is always a guaranteed mound to dig up. After digging, go to the travel borders and travel within that same forest region and set up camp again. Repeat and after digging 10 times, the achievement should pop.

Super easy way that my bf and I accidentally discovered, seems to be a possible bug.

Find a mound cache, dig and search, and then move away from it (the words "mound cache" no longer appearing on screen). Move back to the mound, then slowly move around the mound. A prompt will appear to dig for a new mound. Continue to do this over and over for the achievement - I did this 5 times on the same mound and it gave me the achievement. It also seems to be infinite, as I farmed nimp relics and bars doing this.

I recorded a video of myself doing this to show as an example here.

I recall being able to do this with another mound but unfortunately I can't recall the location. Are you able to find this mound in Grackle in your game? I'm unsure if mounds are randomized or not, but if it at least works for this one mound it's a quick solution and I'll edit what I submitted.

I don't think they're randomized, but I haven't found the one in Grackle yet. I'll try it when I get home later tonight.

I was at the last chapter and found a mound and was able to dig up about 3 times (never took what was in the stash). Achievement was still unlocked so I buried the holes back up (same hole really), left the location, came back and dug up the 3 sections of the same hole again, then achievement unlocked.

Yes once you find a mound that has infinite digs it should stay that way. My bf had luck finding every mound that he did as one that he could infinitely dig, so I'm not sure what causes the mounds to do this. I did notice that certain ones that didn't really have "treasure" in it you can't infinitely dig. It's worth a try with any that you find.

This still works 4/24/2022

In my game ONLY the one in Grackle is infinite.

It's patched and not working anymore. (tested in 9/21/2023)

Many landmarks in this game, such as towns or ghost towns, often have mounds of dirt that resemble treasure burial site, each map will have a mound of dirt for you to dig. These mounds are mostly located on the outskirts of the map, so you can keep an eye out for them while exploring the map.

Might only work with this particular mound. I tried to do this with the first mound you run into at the beginning of the Pigman chapter (at Cedar Flats) and it didn't work.
