How to unlock the Dog Days achievement in Weird West: Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide
Story related and cannot be missed. However, how you complete the journey impacts a few other achievements.
After you rescue Leila and head toward the Wolfsbane Hole, you'll be intercepted by an Oneirist who will ask you to search Fransicus' basement. If you haven't done so already, this is your opportunity to complete:
Once you get to the Blood Moon Temple you'll have to collect 3 Blood Orbs from the surrounding rooms and place them in some pedestals around the blood moon meteor. It's pretty straightforward. After you unlock the 3rd alter, the Oneirist will reappear, ask you to reconsider, and then drop dead.
I'm not sure if getting the choice requires you to have read Sybil's journal, however I had read it. When you approach the meteor, you'll be given a choice to engage it or destroy. If you choose to destroy the moon, then a few achievements become available in Chapter 5:
If you don't destroy the blood moon, the Werewolf will still be hostile toward Oneirists - and thus you - in Chapter 5 and you cannot bring him back to the temple.
Near the beginning of the Oneirist's journey, you'll get a relayograph message from the sheriff saying that Leila is available as a bounty. This is your chance for the achievement if you didn't use Shelby or Galen Weeks (haven't figured out how to get a bounty on him).
