How to unlock the Mad Hatter achievement in Westerado: Double Barreled - Definitive Guide

Getting the mission:
- The fastest way to reach the Haberdasher is to get to Clintville, then sprint west along the train tracks, avoiding all enemies.
- Enter the store (north part of town), speak to the owner and ask about the Haberdasher.
- She'll tell you she needs more employees, so head out and start talking to women (she only wants female employees)
- If you don't get an option to ask them if they want to work at the Haberdasher, walk away from the conversation and talk to someone else.

After employing three women, the Haberdasher is back at full strength, and these hats will already be unlocked:

Regular hat (starting hat)
Cool hat (short hat with one sharp upturned edge)
Bowler hat (small, round hat)
Top hat (flat hat)
Ten gallon hat (tall hat with sharp upturned edges)

Unlocking the missing hats:
The rest of the hats you'll have to unlock yourself. Note that it’s not enough just to wear the hat, you’ll need to go to the Haberdasher while wearing it and order it made by asking if ”my hat is in stock”.

Miner hat (helmet with lamp)
You can get it from finding a miner and shooting it off their head, but it’s easier to get it from the miner who's standing on a dais about in the middle of Clintville. Talk to him, and he'll tell you he wants an old train ticket. Head to the train station and talk to the guy behind the counter, and unless you've angered him he'll give it to you for free. Return it to the miner and he'll give you the hat.

Indian hat (band with feather)
The indian hat is the feather you get from either starting playing as the indian, shooting it off an indian's head, or completing
Westerado: Double BarreledClindianvilleThe Clindianville achievement in Westerado: Double Barreled worth 86 pointsHelp the Indians takes back their land.
NB: Completing this quest will remove the miner from Clintville for getting the miner hat that way

Mexican hat (looks exactly like the regular hat, except that the front brim is a bit wider)
Super hat (hat with rounded upturned edges)
Both these hats you'll have to shoot off NPCs. Lots of NPCs wear these, even friendlies inside towns. Just shoot them off someones head and then leave them at the store.

When you have all the hats the store should look like this. First row: Regular, Cool, Indian. Miner, Bowler, Regular. Second row: Regular, Top, Mexican. Super, Ten gallon, Regular.

Did you shoot one off an Indian or do the quest ? I shot mine off and it didn't unlock.

I've also completed my collection and it hasn't unlocked, so I'm guessing it's glitched. Good guide though!

Working now but you have to do it again. For the Mexican and Super hats shoot them off the Brit and the Sheriff. Brit is east 1 and 2 north of santa anna.

Not sure if this will help any of you but when I was trying for this achievement, I didn’t realize you actually had to go to miss hatt and ask if your hat was in stock in order for her to actually get it in stock lol hope this helps y’all :)

Yes it’s not enough to wear the hat, you’ll need to order it made at the Haberdasher. That might not be obvious, I’ll add it in.

Thanks for the guide and thanks to Calex dEUS, the Brit and the Sheriff are really easy to get the hats from because you really don't have to worry about shooting other civilians. Thanks for saving me more than a little frustration.

Had the Miner's hat shot off. If you talk to Miss Hatt, she can't replace it, but if you go upstairs to Miss Redd, the one in the red dress, she can do specialties, and it's 70$ to replace the Miner's hat.

I've done both (and started as the indian character). I don't think it should matter, it should just matter that you get all into the store.

There is something glitchy with the end-quest logic. When completing the quest, the owner will complain that she needs more employees again like when starting the quest. There's no space to put any more employees though, and there will be no option to invite anyone to work at the store.
