NOTE: I recommend doing the Old Miner quest in order to get the miner's hat and then taking it to the Haberdasher in Santa Anna prior to this or at least prior to going to the Bonafide Bandit.
There are three large stone statues located in the mines. Go to each one shown on the map below and press
when prompted. Once you have interacted with the statues go to the location of the Bonafide Bandit and talk to him for the achievement and a clue about the Murderer. There are two bandits in the screen to the North of the Bonafide Bandit that you can sprint by or fight.
The statues are at the screens with the icons for the Golden Buffalo altar pieces.
