How to unlock the Tyler Durden achievement in Westerado: Double Barreled - Definitive Guide

For this you need to kill atleast 100 bandits and have them afraid of you. Don't go too far into any storyline either. Find the murderer and talk to him when he's bleeding out and he'll say he's you.

Yea you can't do the train stuff just little side missions like:
-Kill the bandits in the grave for the girl in the first town
-find working girls for the hat lady
-find the pick axe for the ghost
-get the miner and wife back together
-you can get two clues playing poker

Thanks, I guess I'll play a little more poker, but I couldn't get enough clues, or kept getting duplicate clues, such that the killer wouldn't spawn, doing the other ones you mentioned.

Just played through with the main character. I only did the mourning daughter, the lost miner, the ghost miner, Mrs. Hatt, the director off of the top of the screen, and poker, got the bandits to stop fighting me and call me an outlaw and still got the Luke ending. I absolutely did no Tycoon, Rancher, Train, Sister, Tressabell, Sheriff, banker, Ostrich gang, or Indian missions. I did however collect some of the orbs. Is there anything I need to choose with the final dialogue with the murderer? I'm not a big neg-voter, but I have to vote negative until there is sufficient detail.

Ok I asked the devs and they said you need to kill 100 bandits and have them afraid of you

Thanks for that. I don't suppose there is a way to tell if you've done so. I guess I'll just cover the entire map and kill every bandit I see. Is there a certain dialogue that the bandits use to show they are "afraid." Sorry to be so annoying, but this is the last thing I need to finish the game.

It's no problem :) They run away from you instead of trying to shoot and kill you

Killing 100 is the key. I had to keep killing bandits even after they started to fear me. I made sure to count to 100 or more. There may not have been any more bandits left alive, to be honest.

I had the same thing happen. See my above comments, the bandits will be afraid after killing probably 80 or less. I had to make sure I killed 100, so keep killing them even after they are afraid. I have a map in my walkthrough that shows every screen with bandits. Just clear them all out and do only side quests and you should be good.

I got the bandits afraid of me, did only the side quest clues, and got the luke skywalker ending. wtf >.<

EDIT -- okay, apparently having the bandits fear you is not enough. I went back, killed 20-30 more and then robbed the bank until everyone started calling me "outlaw". Then I got the correct ending.

Get the clues first before going after the bandits! The killer did not spawn with the side quest clues I got. RNG is a bitch.

For me, I got this the first time playing, but I didn't do any bad deeds except killing the Oil Tycoon and all of his bodyguards. Also, I don't remember if I killed 100 or not, but bandits always fought me unless I had shot their hats off and killed their buddies. Afterwards, they would always be passive.

I scoured the entire map for any free bandits and tried completing the game. This didn't prompt the right ending. I tried the reloading method when the "wrong" ending occurred maybe 5 times. This method did not seem to work for me as well. The first time had some chatter about Indians or something and I pressed too quickly past it. The 2nd-5th time had NO gunversation and went straight to the credit type cut scenes. I went back and killed off all the Beefhead Bulls just in case. Still no dice.

Decided to follow the other suggestions of becoming "evil" and robbing the bank and killing random people. Clintville was in an uproar, Santa Anna had most of the residents massacred, and the Clintville Train Station was almost barren. Upon beating The Murderer, the right scene finally occurred where he asks about "The Buffalo". Not sure why this works for some and requires more work for others, but keep at it and hopefully it'll eventually proc.

Is there anything besides making the bandits afraid of you? I did that and it didn't give me this. Also, any recommendations on quests to do? I did as many minor ones as I could think of and couldn't get enough clues to get the killer out. So I did the train and part of the sister and got Luke.

I went to every bandit and beefhead bulls location on the map and killed all of them (a few got killed in the cross fire but they were all dead)
Killed the murderer and didn't get the achievement, reloaded my save and no joy once again. So I reloaded a 3rd time and fast travelled away from the murders hideout back to Clintville and robbed the bank. Ran back to the fast travel point (Everybody in town was trying to kill me and calling me an outlaw) and travelled back to the murderes hideout killed him again and got the correct dialogue and achievement!

So if anybody else doesn't get this from killing bandits try reloading your save and rob the bank before beating the boss again.
