How to unlock the Hey Big Spender! achievement in WET - Definitive Guide

Buy all ability and weapon upgrades in the upgrade store. These need to be done in the same story playthrough, and you'll need 64,000 total style points in order to buy every one -- 20,000 for the ability upgrades and 44,000 for the weapon upgrades.

This can get pretty tight as there aren't too many more points to get in the entire game. I was able to unlock everything pretty much only after the spawn door arena in Chapter 12, "Head to Head." So make sure you get all the style points you can.

Some tips for maximizing your score (stolen from my guide to "Keep Your Balance"):

1. Keep your multiplier up! This is especially important during spawn door sections. Just keep shooting.

2. Don't destroy spawn doors until they stop spawning enemies.

3. Killing bad guys while sliding after a dive will get you twice as many style points as when you kill them normally.

4. Destroy all crates to make sure you get any bonus style points.

The achievement will unlock as soon as you commit to buying the last upgrade.

I don't think I shot anyone on purpose without Jump, THEN slide. I basically didn't even press RT until I'd started my slide, makes a huge difference to racking up big scores fast. Good tip :)

Damn, I didnt even realise that the enemies would eventually stop coming out of the doors...Looks like this achievement will be done on playthrough 2! Nice guide.

I got this while playing on easy and by following these tips. I was able to buy everything in the level after receiving the crossbow. ;)

Not as tight as you make it out. I got halfway through 9. (on hard)
1. wallrun - jump slide seems worth more than just a slide/jump combo
2. multiplier x5 (get as many bonus multipliers in arena areas as quick as possible)

This solution overstates the difficulty of this achievement by quite a lot. I collected enough points to buy everything by the end of chapter 7 (Uninvited Guest). Problem is, the soonest you can earn this achievement is the end of chapter 8 (Breaking the Ice) because the crossbows don't unlock until then.

I didn't do anything particularly special, I just milked the arenas as long as guys spawned with the wallrun+jump+slide combo and I pulled down a minimum of 15,000 per mission.

This achievement was a small pain, if you can get 64,000 style points in one playthrough on any difficulty then you're the man! However I'm writing this for a playthrough with just getting this achievement in mind.

Now we all know the Acrobatic Slow-Mo moves; Dive, Low Rider, Angel Run, Angel Dive, Springboard, Rebound, Chain Dive, Chain Low Rider. I believe I named them all.

Now I recommend beginning a new game on Easy(Cake Walk) difficulty. To get a high style point balance you need to do Acrobat Slow-Mo moves in sequence. For example, run along the wall (Angel Run),but don't begin shooting, then jump off. Now commence shooting, and the kills will be worth more AND heighten your multiplier much faster as opposed to just diving. Now after the Angel Run into a chain dive, as you land, hit "B" for a Chain Low Rider, which will be worth more. +25 @ x1/ +50 @ x2/ +75 x3/ +100 @ x4 / +150 @ x5.

Since your playing on easy you will be able to do these moves and not worry about damage. Also in arenas, GO FOR THE MULTIPLIER PICK-UPS FIRST!! It's silly to start at x1 when you can briefly jump and swing on a pole for a x3 Pick up!! You can also get the "Keep Your Balance" achievement in conjunction with this. The whole idea is to maximize the points you receive. Utilize the chain dive, chain low rider move as much as possible.

For any further comments and detailed answers I'll write back ASAP in the comments thread.

This is most easily obtained in Golden Bullets difficulty.

I got this achievement at the end of the Diva Hall area in Opera House (Chapter 9). By the time I upgraded everything I even had over 4000 points to spare. At the beginning of the game upgrade your pistol fire rate once and your life bar once (each are just 1000 points) I was also going for Keep Your Balance achievement as well and never had a need to upgrade past the 2 I mentioned. Something Faye didn't mention: jumping off walls and then killing while sliding when you have maximum multiplier gets gets you at least 150 points a kill.

As mentioned by Faye: Some tips for maximizing your score

The achievement will unlock as soon as you commit to buying the last upgrade):

I believe you will need 66,000 total points to fully upgrade Rubi. You can upgrade as you go along. This is pretty easy get in any play-through, but I recommend getting this on your “Golden Bullets” play-through. In this case, you should also be working on the “Keep Your Balance” trophy that requires that you have 50,000 skill points at once. If you go this route, you will want wait to fully upgrade until after you’ve acquired the 50,000 skill points.

You will need at least 66,000 points to upgrade all of the weapons and abilities, each will cost the following points. Level 1 (1,000) Level 2 (1,500) Level 3 (2,500). Your upgrade won't carry over to any challenge modes so you will need to do this on a regular playthrough of the game.

While in each arena area keep killing the enemies which spawn from each doorway until they stop flooding the area. This will give you a far greater chance of earning a high amount of points.

At the end of each chapter and area you will be prompted to upgrade. Press the to pull up the upgrades scree. Press either or to cycle through all the weapons and ability upgrades. Once you have earned enough points and unlocked each extra skill you will be able to use them towards all your upgrades. Buy all the upgrades from the store and the achievement will unlock.

You'll have to bother. All upgrades must be purchased in one playthrough. When you start a new game, all improvements are reset.

One achievement is unlikely to buy everything. But if you are aiming for 1000, then don’t bother with the achievement, since you will have to go through the game several times.
