In case you forget the story (which I did - I gave up and hung on the swing for a little while hoping mom would come get me for dinner or something.), you have to keep swinging until you go around and around and around and end up flying. Once you do this, you'll be back in Sam's bedroom. I had to close the book and walk away before my achieve popped. To swing, use the L control and R control to move your legs, move them both down to swing back then both up to swing towards the fence and tree. Keep doing this. Once your legs get very close to the tree branch, you are a few more swings away from flying, so just do it a few more times. It'll almost look like you're touching the tree branch when you are getting super close.
