Technically it can be missed. I never equipped any of the parts from the gigabike and still beat the game. But if you are like me and have almost every part and didn't know what was needed you need to have all of the "synthetic" parts equipped to unlock.

I missed it as well. The parts didn't improve my build so I didn't use them all until I saw DJ Backstab's comment.
