At the very beginning of Chapter III you'll enter the mansion.
Go upstairs and then left, you'll find a hole in the floor.
Hit
to activate the spirit and move up, then right.
Hit
and keep pressed when you'll reach the small glowing table and then move it left letting it fall through the hole.
Back to Elena, move left.

When you first enter the mansion, go to the left and use the ghost to travel to the third floor, where you'll find a table you can possess. Drag it all the way left so it falls through the floor and covers up a hole that blocks Elena's progress.
