I did this using a combination of Kernel and Shellbo during The Wild Hogs boss fight.
I beefed up Kernel so that he can take a large amount of hits, and placed a Noomlin Charm on Shellbo so that I can keep beefing up Kernel and the ally behind with shell quickly.
After that, I killed a few hogs so that they all hit multiple times, and let them whittle down Kernel's health. I got my ally behind up to ~100 shell doing this. If you have Lumin Vase on Kernel, this will happen quicker.
