How to unlock the Patema fan III achievement in Wings of Bluestar - Definitive Guide

You need to collect 40 of the green rectangle icons (Patemas) which is cumulative and can be done in multiple runs however be warned, this achievement was buggy for me. I had all other achievements except this one even after collecting well over 40 so I exited game, went to manage games, deleted save data from everywhere (cloud & local) and started anew. Upon reaching about 24 Patemas the achievement unlocked early that time. Figured I'd let everyone know just in case this achievement is buggy for you as well!

Fuck those publishers releasing broken games every week... Tired of this.

Also, why this has 4 downvotes? Downvote the broken game, not the solution. This is exactly what I came looking for, why the hell the achievement wasn't unlocking for me.

There has got to be more to unlocking this piece of shit of an achievement. I have already erased my save three times, played enough to get 40, even 50 and I can't even get the in game award. This is seriously broken for me.

This achievement glitched for me too. Since this achievement has a higher unlock ratio than beating the stage 3 boss, I am pretty sure the glitch occurs when you switch characters, because the in-game rewards reset/are also counted separately.
I started with the female character, collected around 24 patema items. Then I switched to the male character and collected easily over 40 patema items, but I did not get the achievement. So I restarted my Xbox, started a new arcade run with the female character (I did not delete the save data) and after about 17 patema items (so pretty much 40 in total), the achievement unlocked. There was also a patema item at the start of stage 3, that I had to pick up 3 times to count, with the male character. So, avoid the male character (or switching characters) and you should be fine.
