Taffy is a piñata that sometimes appears randomly in a stage.

Once you start attacking Taffy, he will respawn in a few seconds. Each time he respawns, he will regain all his health.

The trick is to spam all your spells in quick succession in order to deplete his health before he can respawn.

This can be tricky if you are on floor 1-1, as you won't have any spells but the ones you entered the dungeon with. Save your money and buy spells for your and slots and return.

As long as I had all Arcane slot filled, I have been able to defeat Taffy. Some spells may not be efficient enough to deal enough damage, so there is definitely a luck factor.

Unfortunately, attacks on Taffy won't increase your signature gage. If able, find a group of enemies nearby, fill your signature gage, and return to Taffy before your meter depletes.

The best and easy way to beat Taffy it's to have the Arcana "Fuelled Berserk" (fire category).

When you meet Taffy, just activate the arcana and spam the basic attack without activate any other arcana.

I did this without buying extra arcana using a starting loadout of Air Spinner, Earth Aegis, and Volt Pinball. My dash arcana was Frost Feint, which didn't matter for me since it's defensive, but something that can attack like Wave Front or Flare Rush could make this even easier.

Earth Aegis and Volt Pinball both rack up serious combos, and putting a full Air Spinner combo in between them helps. It also helps to unload on anything near Taffy until you charge your signature and unleash it on the pinata last, giving you a second free casting of Volt Pinball. Nailed Taffy several times with just the 4 starting arcana.

Edit: I also got this with a starting loadout of Severing Slash, Wave Front, Evading Zephyr, and Volt Pinball. Evading Zephyr doesn't do damage, but the other arcana deal heavy damage, high-hit combos.
