This achievement is story related and cannot be missed. You'll unlock it at the end of "Centuries of Glory Burned Away mission" upon defeating Taotie boss
In my opinion, this fight is kind of broken but doable if you know what you're doing. A while back, being near Taotie's feet suspended the projectile attacks but it seems that this method no longer works.
Before you enter to the boss arena, I suggest to increase your Morale Point rank to level 25 to make the fight a little easier. I tried to defeat Taotie with two allies but it cost me to much attention to keep them alive, so it's up to you. In terms of buffs / skills, equip yourself with "Vitality Absorb" to restore some HP upon dealing damage and "Cleanse" to reset all negative effects.
During the first phase, focus on deflecting his Critical Blows. When Taotie is stunned, attack his legs using the Martial Arts. This not only deals damage to him, but more importantly, consumes his Spirit, giving you the opportunity to perform Fatal Strike much faster. The second phase is easier, just wait for his charge and properly deflect this attack. Depending on how much damage you can deal between his Critical Blows, you'll need one or two successfully deflected charges to finally defeat Taotie.
The key in this fight is to get as many Taotie's Critical Blows as possible (and of course deflect them). Unfortunately, sometimes the mechanics decide otherwise - Taotie starts stomping or jumping for some unknown reason. In that case, I'd recommend restarting the fight, as it can take a long time to break his stance by filling the Spirit Gauge with only regular attacks.

His second phase gets me every time. I can't seem to get the timing of his charge move to counter it
